New to OH
You will be much happier on mushies. Be careful to really listen to your tummy when you start feeding it- a little goes a long way!
I read the best description of the difference between head hunger and physical hunger- head hunger wants something specific ie salty or sweet and physical hungry will accept anything to fill the need for fuel.
Good luck as you begin figuring out what your new tummy will accept and how much.
Post anytime you have a question. Someone is usually around to answer for you.

Thanks for your answer. I cannot wait for tomorrow. Of course, my first soft food day falls on a day that I have to go to an all day professional development workshop. That is a bummer, because I won't get to try anything until the PM. I don't want to have to run to the restroom in the middle of everything because of something I've tried to eat. I have read that many people are constipated much of the time, but I am anyrthing but constipated. Nothing happens in that dept. for a couple of days & then I can have a different kind of soup or something & all of a sudden it hits me & I am running to the rest room. Thanks again for your help.
Welcome! We're so glad you're here!!! : )
Liquids were really a test in my ability to keep from eating the couch. It definitely gets better on mushies and now I'm rarely ever hungry on regular foods. I even have to set a timer sometimes to remind myself to eat.
Again welcome and Congratulations on your surgery!
Thank you all for your answers & welcoming me to OH. I'm really not sure if I doing this messaging/forum thing correctly. I am trying to figure this out as I go along. It is great to have this available. Hearing from others who have actually been through what I am now going through is going to be very helpful. Another question. I am having a hard time getting the protien shakes down. I can't find a flavor that I like. They don't bother my stomach or anything. It is the taste, the after-taste & the smell. I am holding my breath when I drink one so I can get it down. Is there any protien powder out there that is totally tasteless that maybe you can mix in your food or something? That would be fabulous!
Hi I am Amy and I feel your pain about the protien shakes. I can't do the taste at all and my new tummy doesn't seem to like them either! I had my sleeve the day after you so no fair, you get mushies before me!! I have a business lunch at Charlestons on my first mushie day. I am going to call them to see if they have any kind of soup they could strain for me so I don't just sit there like a dummy during the lunch. Be sure and post what it is like when you eat your first mushie cuz I will be hanging on every word!!

Welcome to the group -- the BEST group out there! I was sleeved on 7/7 so I have another week of liquids to go. I have had a couple of bouts of dizziness, but not all that much really. The first time I tried a protein bullet and could barely choke it down. Yesterday I used the Wildberry Passion drink mix and an EAS AdvantEdge shake. Both were okay for me. You can buy unflavored Unjury powder to add to liquids and foods. I bought some to keep on hand but have not tried it yet.
Thanks for the welcome! What is a protien bullet? Is the Unjury powder a protien powder? Do you have to get these at a sports nutrition place or a health food store? I don't know about all of these things yet or where to find all the stuff we need on this journey. I went to a support meeting tonight at the hospital, so I weighed while I was there. Down 25.5 lbs. so far. That is pretty sweet, but it feels like it should be 75 lbs. off! This two weeks of liquids only is TOUGH!!!!!! I hope I can get 40 lbs. off by the time school starts. That would really be something. Of course, nobody would be able to tell it but me, but that's ok. At least I would know it. Good luck on your 2nd week of liquids. You can do it!

for protein stuff. I bought the bunch of samples they sell for beginners. She has a good book there too, that she wrote about her surgery. I think they may be a little higher than buying in Tulsa, but she has LOTS of different kinds and flavors. She says she doesn't put anything on there that she thinks tastes bad, and I hear a lot of them do. (No affliation, just looked interesting.)
Wow, you really lost a lot of weight so far! Hope I do so well! Are you living in Tulsa? I live in Tahlequah, and I have really torn up the road between here and there for all the tests and stuff. Whew. Maybe I'll be able to rest after the surgery! lol!
