Body Shape Question

Did you find as you lost weight and worked out more your body shape changed somewhat?  I feel like my flab is migrating and moving around somewhat, and clothes that used to fit nicely are a bit odd now.

For instance, right after I bought my last round of shorts, my waist decided to shrink a bit.  Not complaining-because it can be deceptive-I think I've lost weight and I haven't.  I'm sure some of it is just moving more and being more active, but it's kind of bizarre.

I totally agree with you!  I bought an outfit a few weeks ago just because I thought it really flattered me, and now, while it still fits... it looks terrible!  And it feels like I'm losing weight in my lower gut, but my "muffin top" is getting bigger and my butt has no shape what-so-ever.  Big sigh.....  I guess it will all even out and at least we are getting a lot healthier!  Diana

I can't really help with that question cuz all I've noticed is that I am losing weight in boobs and feet!

In my case more than the shifting, is has been an issue of certain body parts being more accentuated (to put nicely ) than others. I am what is known as a pear shape - I started losing weight from top to bottom...so as things stand right now, my posterior looks huge to me compared to the rest of it! This was no surprise to me, since all the women in my family are built like that...I am hoping that as I lose more weight, it does balance out more and I won't just see a pair of hips staring back at me when I look in the mirror...

Things are definitely shifting around on me, too. I'm pear shaped, so had no room to lose weight in the boobarena (le sigh). The majority of my excess weight is in my legs. Also hips and upper arms, but wow ... the legs ... what a big mess! Exercising has really been shifting things, building muscle and losing some fat. Although, that can be a little discouraging when you really commit to exercise because the scales barely move. Building dense muscle tissue takes the place of some of my fluffy fat and I hope to become a more efficient calorie burning machine, but when building that good muscle ... the scales are gonna stay put. So, it's the tape measure for me ... it's my pal these days! The scales ... drifting, oh so slowly south, not so much! ; )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I agree about the strange shifting of weight.  I am a professional dieter (43 years under my elastic belt.)  I've never had weight come off in the places it has come off this time around.  My tushie is disappering but it seems like the belly is getting bigger.  And, apparently the weight from my face slid down to my belly too!  My arms are not budging at all.  I think that weight is superglued on!  Weird stuff going on in there!

Shape-shifting, most definitely! I lost from the bottom up. Even during the stalls, I still shift around.
