My favorite dinner since surgery
This evening's dinner was the best! Baked boneless and skinless chicken breasts .... marinated and cooked with a little Wishbone Fat Free Italian Salad Dressing, pepper, and garlic powder ... grilled fresh yellow squash (drizzled with a little EVOO and some pepper) .... sliced garden tomato .... and black eyed peas. I had tiny amounts and loved every little, slow bite. And, I am fully satisfied! : )
Our neighbor gifted us a big bag of fresh veggies from his garden! Yummy!!!
I had a BIG Flax Oil gel capsule for a late dessert. Ugh ..... spoiled the mood. ; )
the dinner sounds yummy.. I love grilled squash! I just put some pepper and spices on it while its wet and grill it on skewers.. yummy.. now my aunt she likes to dip hers in soy sauce before putting spices on.. I just love it..
I am trying egg plant for the first time tomorrow.. any ideas on how to cook it?
I'm clueless about cooking eggplant. I want to try some too! The only way it was ever cooked in our family was my dear grandmother dipped it in batter and fried it. I wouldn't recommend that. ; )
Our neighbor also gave us a huge bag of okra. I love fried okra! But, I'm not going to do that. So, I'm going to be searching the internet for an alternative way to make healthy and tasty okra. If I see a healthy eggplant recipe while I'm searching, I'll let you know. ; )
I cannot tell you how happy I am to read that. I keep wondering if I will ever enjoy a meal again or always be worried about throwing up. Its not that I want to be able to pig out again but I do just want to enjoy a somewhat normal meal again. Thanks for sharing it gives me hope!

Amy, you will enjoy meals again! Truly, you will. It may take a few weeks to find out how you like things cooked best, what flavors you like best, what sets well in your tummy (although that changes), but it will all happen.
I think you will be able to tell easily when you're getting full, just don't go really fast at eating and you'll be fine. I can say that I eat faster now than when I first started, but still not speedy ... but it doesn't take forever, either. I finish about the same time hubby finishes his food, I'm just eating smaller bites and smaller servings, but we both finish right at the same time.
Just this past week, or so, I've started getting a hiccup signal when I'm getting full. It happens about 1/2 of the time and it happens about 1 bite ahead of when I start to feel the fullness or satisfied feeling. Even when I haven't had that signal, I've never thrown up ... at least yet. And, Dr. Nelson used an endoscope instead of a bougie ... and it was just a tad smaller than a 32 Fr. So, even with this tiny of a stomach, I haven't yet thrown up from a meal. I know some are more sensitive to vomiting after eating, but it's not as easy to happen as you might think.
As soon as you get to regular food (fluids and mushies are deceiving), you'll be able to tell easily when you're getting full. Rest easy. ; )
