Survived the Dreaded EGD

I am gradually getting everything done before surgery.  I didn't think it was possible and had worked my (not big girl) panties into a knot worrying, then decided to go with the flow.  Lots of drives to Tulsa, but otherwise, everything is getting done.  Turned out I dreaded the EGD for good reason, YUCK! But now that is done, too.  Got to stay with my dd in Owasso and my 10 yr. old granddaughter  & I got to make her first scrapbook pages together.  So I mixed some pleasure in with the lidocaine gargle episode.  Now I am just a week and a half away from my surgery and starting to think it may actually be real--and getting a little nervous.  Whoops, there go the panties, knotting up again!

Reading messages on the board helps me to maintain what passes for sanity in my case.  Thanks!

Congrats on getting that behind you.  I think the gargle was awful too.  Plus the nurse was laughing at the way I gargled!  Glad she got pleasure out of it!

You will do fine, we all get a little anxious as it gets closer to our day.

Omigo****'s exciting, isn't it?  And scary too.   Nerves are to be expected.  I was nervous, but never really afraid....but the final 12 hours I was flying in, hanging out in Mexico, etc. so I stayed really busy.  Looking back, I think they just took me around with them to keep me busy instead of sitting in the clinic waiting-but it was a good thing to do.  I was on the boards a lot, wanting to connect with people who had been through it-and the more people who told me they would do it again-the better I felt......so,  I would do it again without hesitation.

Good luck! It's normal to feel all kinds of mood swings. My only regret is that I didn't do this 10-15 years ago..
