<--- me with hot flashes
Deb, I have estradiol. I have been on that for 20 years. I also have compounded progesterone (bio-identical stuff my pharmacist concocts for me.) I've been on the progresterone for a couple of years. I had been virtially flash free until 2 weeks post-op. I have no idea what is going on but it is intolerable. Thanks for the offer though. Unfortunately the drugs are failing me at this point.

Oh DEAR, that is scary. Hmmm, then my second offering is some red zinger herbal tea-it's caffiene free (aggravates flashes) and the raspberry in there does something for the flashes, as well as the cool ice tea.
Make yourself some tea, put your feet up, ice pack on the head and your comfiest robe or sleep shirt. Get your hair up off your neck and wet the back of your neck down too.
For a mock pina colada-make a slush of V-8 diet splash with a shot of Torino SF coconut syrup. No alchohol or calories, but it does lighten the spirit a bit.
hot flashes suck!!! I had my hysterectomy in '99 and i have occations that i am flashing several times a day but then can go months without having any.. Dr. T is great about letting me control the hormones i take. I only take them when I am having hot flashes or emotional breakdown or just feel i need them.. which isnt very often. Good l uck and I hope your feeling better soon.. i agree with the decaf tea.. its a great way to cool down.. actually decaf is the way to go all the time..
DH seriously wishes I'd get hot flashes. I had a few early on, but then they subsided. I'm cold all the time now to the point that I keep a jacket everywhere. I have a sweatshirt in my office for when the temp gets below 74 in here.
And 14 year old boys???Hell on earth by themselves!! I know of what you speak. That's why I spend my time with 15-18 year old children!
