Okay Gang - I asked my favorite Barrista/Manager this morning about the new drink that has protein - here is the "skinny" about it:

2 flavors:

Mango Banana - 32 grams of SUGAR, 5 grams of fiber, 15-20 grams Protein

Choc Banana - 29 grams of SUGAR, 5 grams of fiber, 15-20 grams Protein

At this point she did not see that there would be a low sugar variation. She said she would research it though and let me know, but I would doubt it at this stage.

So for those of us who DUMP like no one's business- WARNING WARNING

Wow! That's way out of OWLO guidelines, too. Nothing with more than 10 grams of sugar or sugar alcohols for us.  Thanks so much for this info!
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Holy crap, Batman!!!  That is enough sugar is make a sleever dump!  Hopefully they will fix that problem soon.  And, while they are at it maybe they will get rid of the crack they must put in their drinks to get us hooked!  One cup and I was craving my next!

wholey cow thats more sugar than i can handle and I am pre op.. Has anyone tried thier flavored iced teas? you can get them without sugar.. they are good.. but i am an iced tea drinker.. i love starbucks but its hard for me to pay the prices.. so i dont go often..

why couldnt they make the protein drink with a sugar free syrup? or does the protein have to sugar in it.. i will have to ask the lady at our starbucks.. if there is away to do it she will figure it out. she is great about that.

Anna, They have become rather addictive. They really are good if they make them right.

Pfffffffffffft!!!  Anyone else see the recent trend of labeling foodstuffs as "healthy", then jamming a bunch of craptacular, nutritionally void things into it?  I feel for those who see this drink as a "healthy alternative" to their coffees with 2 sugars.  Little do they know that they are just pouring useless, empty calories into their body, under the guise of a healthy protein boost...OY VEY!!!  Just goes to show you how corporations feed off of the public's limited knowledge of nutrition, ya know...niiiiiiiiice
