Prayers requested for my Mother-In-Law
She is a diabetic, and for some unknown reason her blood sugar spiked at 430 today. We don't know why and the docs don't know why. She started seizing and my middle SIL called the ambulance and got her to the hospital..I don't want to think about what would have happened if she hadn't been there.
The docs did an MRI and a CT scan and found nothing. They don't know why it spiked, but because she had a seizure she is at greater risk of seizing again. So she is now on anti-seizure meds.
They sent her home and said to come back next week for more tests. I so wish she could survive this surgery to get her body healed. She has no feeling left in her feet either.
She is my substitute Mama and the glue that holds her family together. She also got mad that we were coming. She said, "STAY HOME." She doesn't like us to know when she's sick.
I will pray for her and your family tonight, diabetes is a terrible thing to have to experience. Stay strong and be strong for her, keep her encouraged. I understand the glue that holds the family together, my mother in law is the same way, not sure what the family will ever do without her. I dread that day. I will also pray for wisdom for the doctors as they treat her.

Thanks to you all. I don't know anything new yet this morning. I will, however, keep you all posted on her condition as I learn news.
She had been doing so well since I educated her on making sure to read her labels for sugar content, etc. because she'd been drinking sugar laden Arizona Green Tea instead of the diet Arizona. She made the switch and the sugar has since run in the 100 range. This was just very frightening to all of us, and I'm ready to go to Enid at a moment's notice. So, we'll see how she progresses this weekend.
Her doc is out of town, and his office has 3 others in practice. 1 was there and the office never called my SIL back, so she's taking that up with our family doc when he gets back in to town.
They have told her she will probably lose her leg if her sugar doesn't stabilize, so we'll see...it's just very scary. My kids are scared that they're going to lose her as they lost my mom not quite a year ago yet.
