Well it was bound to happen.  After eating a cheese stick yesterday with no problems, I thought it's about time i put myself on a food schedule so I can stop losing muscle mass and reagain some strength.  So I proceeded to finely chop some fresh turkey breast from RibCrib (no sauce), only  a tiny bit about one tablespoon in volume.  And another tablespoon of refried beans, (nothing but them, no cheese, no sauce, no salt).  I felt full, i didn't drink anything after i had taken the bites, however i did drink water previous to eating (about 10 minutes before). I felt sooooooo full and then the pouch started making these "noises", gurgling, ummm whining..., and ummm you know "spooky house" kinda noises....  and next thing you know i tried to deal wth the discomfort only to find that it ALL came up... yes that's right  I should have tiptoed back into the land of food after just drinking for so long (14 days of water).  lesson learned, i'll only take one bite of something tonight, wait for 30 minutes and take a little drink of water... and hope for the best. I'm doing well on the scale though.....I started on the day of surgery at 272 and this morning I'm 244, so i have nothing to gripe about where my progress is concerned!  I'm blessed and I know it. My breakthrough is that I'v killed the beast that has haunted me by going to my favorite haunts all the time....  i HAVE KILLED HEAD HUNGER.  That's right it longer resides here...  I've been taking the boys daily to the places that I love to eat and only drinking water.  i no longer lust for food...(I still lust for the other stuff..lmao).  So I'm mega-happy about it.  i can't say it was easy but in a way, I hope my appetite returns. See ya gang! T.

Spooky house noises!!  LOL!  Yep, my grouchy pouch made those noises after a couple of sips of Atkins Advantage.  I'm sorry you but it will get better each day, at least that is what everyone that has gone before us says.  You are doing so good, I am trying not to be jealous of your loss dang you.  Take it easy for a few days until your tummy forgives you.

First, congrats on you rockin your RNY!! On the whole grouchy pouchy thing...remember, you had turkey breast, which is sometimes known for causing issues due to the dryness of it, no sauce to help it slide, then refried beans, which probably acted a lil like spackle in your new tummy, tommy.  Those noises weren't spook house, they were apparently those of construction bt the turkey brick and the spackle...get used to that new lil alien, as it has a tendancy to voice its rude opinions frequently. Good luck on your next "fowl" adventure!

Tommy - you aren't allowed turkey yet!  The only meat you are allowed is CANNED tuna or chicken.  And there was probably too much sugar in the bbq sauce.  Silly man!  What are you thinking?  Ok, I'm done now! Congrats on the weight loss.  You are a speeding train.  Love the comment about "spooky house" kinda noises.  We've all been there.  That's why they make exhaust fans in bathrooms!  (ok, tmi, sorry...) I wondered how you were doing with food and I'm sorry it made a reappearance.  Maybe your next try will be more successful! Major congrats on the head hunger.  I know you have a very strong will so I won't even ask how you did it!  I hope it is a forever victory over head hunger.  If so, can ya package it and sell it to your bestest buds?

Yeah, save the turkey for the graduate course.

If it's a carb thing, get yourself some real mayo or light mayo and use that with some form of meat.  Also, for beginning meat eating, skip the knife and use the food processor.

Also, I just went through a phase of wanting malt vinegar on everything-moistens it up but no carbs/calories.

Thomas - congrats on the weight loss!! On the food, I say start with simple things, such as cottage cheese (instead of cheese stick), faft free refried beans, eggs (some people don't do well with those, though) - try one food at a time and leave most meats to the next couple of weeks...you'll do fine...you will do figure out what works and what doesn't.... - Anna

OK, sweetcheeks, you skipped from baby steps to graduate school!  Back track to cheese sticks, fat free refried beans with cheese, really moist tuna salad (only tuna and light mayo), and protein drinks.  I found that drinking a warm drink before eating made the tummy more receptive to food.  I totally understand the weird noises thing!  My banana is very talkative even when not unhappy with me.  It has been grumpier this week than normal though. T-H-O-M-A-S  Let me spell it out for you. You are on stage 2 (SOFT PROTEIN FOODS) step 1 which consists of:

Light or low fat cheese, cottage, ricotta, cheddar, american, mozarella, string. Milk-fat free or 1%(up to 8 ozs daily). Eggs or egg substitute(scrambled) Egg salad(egg and light mayo). Fat free refried beans, Tuna or chicken salad(both may be prepared with small amounts of lf or light mayo, as well as mustard. No vegetables or relish, meat and condiment only).

That is it. No where in there does it say T-U-R-K-E-Y. There is a reason for that MR. I am man, I don't listen. It's because it is too DRY. Okay, I'm through *****ING. On a kinder note, congratulations on the 28 pound weight loss.

I know that you have a hand out because I personally handed it to you.

Buck up sparky...Ya know I love ya.......
