Don't stock up!  What works pre-op may not work post-op.  I perceived everything as really sweet after surgery.  I think that is a function of being in deep ketosis.  You will have plenty of time to get what you need durig your two weeks on liquids.  That being said I would recommend you have waiting at home after surgery these items:  sugar free popiscles (I preferred the Blue Bunny ones), different flavors of crystal light or Wal Mart store brand, Herb Ox broth mixes (like boullion only in a packet), Propel waters, and decaf cofee and teas. I did need protein during that period and found that the EAS lite went down better than others.
Denise, where have you been able to find the Herb Ox packets? I can only find the boullion and they are so much higher in sodium. I really like the taste of the packets as well.

I am pre-op...  But, I like to buy the 42 gram protein bullets and pour them in a bottle of water.  They are 3 oz, so you have to drink some of the water out first...  But, they aren't as sweet as Crystal Light, but do flavor the water and add protein.  Mine are called New Whey and I bought them online at bariatriceating.com.  They also sell bullets at GNC, but they are a different brand and I've never tried them.  Also, the only flavor I've tried is the fruit punch. Thank you everyone.  I feel like I need to prepare for this, but I guess I will just wait and see.  I am going to go and buy a couple of the bullet proteins thngs and some broth, but then wait and see what I can tolerate.  I'm not too big on the sweet drinks now in bulk, so I will probably just stick with water, broth, jell-o and popsicles. I appreciate everyone's help.  You guys are the best!! Kim

Chiming in late-but agreeing with the don't stock up.  Your tastes will change and also it's very overwhelming to see a cabinet full of food that will take you forever to eat (at least it is to me).....

Also, walking through the store figuring out what you can and cannot eat is a good way to exercise a bit after surgery.  And trust me-toward the end you'll just want a different package to drink out of if you by 20 of something.
