Back from Enid
where son took his driving test and got his license! Yay for him and *shudder* for mom..I have to let my baby fly down the road going 70 in a moving mass of metal and steel..that was hard with daughter but doubly hard with my son...I nearly lost him once, and I don't want to get close again. He's enjoying the freedom and said, "Mom, I feel like Super man now that I passed my test." He did a bonehead move and got an automatic fail the first time, but the second time was great. He took it there since it's easier than in Edmond. We did that on Wednesday and stayed the whole rest of the week at my in-laws. I had the BEST week..got to see my nephdawg and shopped all the consignment stores....brand new one is AWESOME!!! It's called Park Avenue thrift...I got several things for 27 cents and several for $1 including Rockies and Tommy Hilfigfer snap down the front denim skirts.. Where has the summer gone??? Seems like yesterday I had just gotten out of school and low and behold here I amI working summer school starting today for July except on Fridays,.so I'll probably see you all more now.
Well, with the new graduated drivers license rules, if he gets ANY kind of "moving violation" even seat belt, he'll lose his license until he's 18. Currently, he has a graduated license with a G on it. If, after 6 months he has no violations, we can go back to the DL and get a permanent license with no restrictions. Glory hallelujah no more tests for the other licenses!!! He has a hard time with short term memory due to side effects of radiation/chemo, and that interfered with the permit. That and the fact that he was so nervous he psyched himself out.
If he EVER has a ticket like that, I'm taking the keys to the Camaros pronto. He has 2 1981 Camaros. One is in the process of becoming a Z and being repainted and reinteriored if there's such a word as that. It came in navy with tan interior and will turn out as black metallic with red interior. The other is white with blue pinstriping and navy interior. It's a Berlinetta and will stay as such. It's a one owner car prior to our getting it for John.
When he turns 18, his dad is going to drop a 454 in the Z and switch to a stick. *sigh* More power!
