I really need some extra prayers....Road blocks keep popping up
Oh, Sherry! I am so sorry you are dealign with all of this at once. Stress can certainly cause chest pains. Focus on two things right now- you grandchildren (especially the new one!), and staying on your pre-op diet. Those are 2 things you have absolute control over. Success in those 2 areas will give you a better sense of calm. Try exercising some, maybe walking. Exercising releases a calming hormone in your body. Take the grandkids for a nice walk. Listen to their chatter and let it remind you of what is important in life.
Talk to your benefits coordinator at work and find out the exact date you have insurance coverage! This is important information that you are entitled to!
As for the weight loss pre-op- our surgeons are very conservative in their approach. TYhey require pre-op weight loss for a coupld of reasons: 1) to prove you have the ability to live with the restrictions of WLS and the dedication and 2) to shrink your liver. Your liver lies right on top of your stomach. They need it to be as small as possible to make the surgery as safe as possible. Fat folks tend to have fatty livers that bleed easily and get in the way of the surgery. Our surgeons have a very low rate of complications because they are so conservative. My umderstanding is that the required weight loss is based on BMI (and probably where you carry your weight.)
You have my phone number if you want to call. I would be happy to talk to you anytime. Sometimes it just takes anothjr person to listen and see options you couldn't see in the heat of the moment.
Hugs! Denise
I know there are no words that will make this all better for you... But I can tell you this... LET GO AND LET GOD. Some many times we doubt those 5 words but for only a hand full of letters to write that phrase it sure can be a powerful thing.
I will be praying for you!!! Hand in there and keep us posted. We are always here when you need us.
I took a deep breath!!! My brother just called and he found out he has prostrate cancer....My little issues have now dropped on the priority list. I'm mixing and mashing all your advise and soaking up all the prayers.....I have made a list and focusing!! First thing is to get this little girl here. Her labor stopped early this morning and the Dr. really want's her to stay in there for a couple more weeks. She is only 5 lbs right now. They are concerned because my daughter has had her thyroid removed a couple of months ago and her body is very toxic right now....She is high risk anyway so we just need to let the Dr. work and trust in him. They are just hoping for one day at a time right now...These other two munchkins are in good hands with Grammy!! Here is the kicker....Karson the oldest little girl will be 3 next month.....Ashton is 16 months old and now the new baby!! Talk about someones plate being full!!!! 3 under 3!!!!!! Can you say big V about now!!!!
I called WW and changed my appointments to the 17th. That will give me time to help her get on her feet and my insurance to go through. I will know something about that issue today, then I can work on the stress test and the cpap issue...they are not done through WW. Since I haven't seen the Diet nurse yet, I am doing Atkins, which is hard for me. I am a meal skipper and often don't do snacks. Eating is driving me crazy! I can't see eating this much and loosing, but I am trusting Cowboy on this!
My tooth can wait...so what if I look like a hick from the mountains....I'm not!!
Thank you guys for the prayers and if you think of me, will you please continue....I have been at this weight for 20 yrs so a little while longer will matter.....right?? Love you guys! Sherry
Hey Sherry- I'm definitely praying for you and everything you're going through right now. I'm also praying for your family in the discovery of your brother's cancer. Also praying for your little girl and here little one! Hang in there...it will get better. And do trust Cowboy on the eating. I felt like I was eating constantly and that's when I lost my weight. When I cut back, I stalled out. SO...take his advice!!!
Hugs, my friend.
Liz
Total Loss: 137 lbs
Sherry, I'm praying for you now. Please go to the ER for your chest pains. Those surely aren't anything to ignore or mess around with... I'm praying for your health and your new grandbaby that's about to arrive.
For now, just try to breathe, relax, and place your burdens at His feet and leave them there. Call and check frequently about when your new insurance kicks in and I'm sure your surgery date will be here soon.
