I am having the hardest day since I was newly post-op.  I have diarrhea and won't stop and very low energy.  The diarrhea has been with me since it woke me up twice in the middle of the night.  I haven't really eaten today because nothing sounds good and went I tried (grilled chicken salad from McDonald's) it made me icky.  I did complete the 2.8 mile walk this morning and did fine but got overheated. Wonder what's up?  Should I take some Immodium?  Sometimes I think it's better to purge the evil since I'm home anyway.  Am I just having "one of those days"?  Any suggestions?

Aww...I hate that you don't feel well. I don't know what to tell you. I think if you can handle the evilness, do it. But...if you just don't think you can, take something. I'll be thinking about ya!!! Hugs, my glittery friend! Liz

Kimmie:  Call the nurses station at the hospital - they may have some suggestions before the immodium - don't be surprised if they ask how much water you have had the last couple of days though - they are going to try to gauge your hydration levels!!  But don't mess around because as a new post op you can move to dehydration pretty quickly!! Call me if you need to!  My phone is a revolving door right now!! LOL  Texts and calls  oohhh.. LOL

Thanks gals.  I know I have to be getting dehydrated because I haven't been able to drink very much today.  I'm sure to be losing more than I'm taking in.  I know!  I know!  Bad girl!  But I'm trying.  Thanks for your replies girls.  At least I know I'm loved even if the evil Chaquita banana doesn't love me today!  Think I'll have a little nappy poo!

First let me say I am so sorry you are feeling off today. My grandmother always believed in purging your system and if she had diarrhea she would take a laxitive to make sure what ever was in her system was out! I have no idea what to tell you....I would make sure you have some type of potassium in your system though. That is usually what depletes quickly from your system and causes you to become weak. Getting overheated didn't help you any either! You are probably a little dehydrated. Me, personally....I would drink lots of water and maybe a gateraid type drink or eat a banana. Then do nothing but rest....Later this evening I'd take an immodium.  Maybe you should call the WW Center, just to be safe.  Could this have been something that was like food poisoning?

I don't think it was food poisoning because I haven't vomited yet.  I know I had my first experience with a very mild foamy session yesterday.  We had lunch after the movie at the Elephant Bar and it made me nauseated and I had the foamy mouth thing where your mouth keeps watering and watering, for lack of another term.  But it passed quickly. I guess I could have some kind of bug.  That would explain why I'm so tired and lazy. Thanks for your advice.  I appreciate it.  Although I don't think I'll go the Grandma route!  LOL!

It sounds like you've just caught something.  Maybe you've been over doing it lately?  I say get back to tons of liquids and just veg out and if it keeps on being an issue, then head to the doc early tomorrow!  I'm so sorry to learn of you being sick!!!! T.

Dang it!  Why did I listen to these people?  Now Dr. B wants me to come in and have some joy juice pumped in.  I HATE being a patient.  And I don't really think I need it but I guess it's better safe than sorry! Thanks to all *****sponded!

You listened because they know best!  It is really a good thing you called in.  Better safe than sorry.  It definitely sounds like you are dehydrated.  You might want to take it easy for a day or so until your body gets back in sync.  I am so impressed to see how you all are stepping up to help out.  What an awesome group of people.
