My fourth of July treat

For holidays, I usually indulge in one thing that's seasonal and special to that holiday, but the 4th presents a special challenge because grilling etc, is something I do alot anyway.  I finally settled on a piece of sugar free coconut cream pie from pioneer pies (can't eat the crust).

I don't eat a lot of pie anyway, but I actually had the waitress go back to verify that my piece was in fact sugar free.  It was so good I bought a piece for Mom and and Sugar Free cherry and took it by to them for an anniversary treat.

What's really amazing is that today, I can write about it, tell you about it, with no real desire to have another slice right now (which is the other part of holiday challenge).

I'm really anal about have the treat on THE Day....not such a big deal for summer holidays-but from Thanksgiving to Easter it's a must.  Even with reduced capacity-having a treat a day can add up over that length of time.

Everyone has to develop their own strategy for holidays-but the summer ones are great ones to practice for that loooooog stretch of temptation.

I'm glad that you enjoyed your treat. I'm glad yout family enjoyed the treat, too.

Pioneer Pies .... I could really do some damage with one of their strawberry pies. Yesterday my treat was watermelon. Surely watermelon should count toward our fluid goals. ; )

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Watermelon is one of those things that doesn't work well for me-but I can eat cantalope and honeydew all day.
