stupid questions
ok, i really feel like these are stupid questions, but here goes, I am on stage 2, step 2. and i am having problems eating.
How do i tell if a food is disagreeing with me?
How do I tell if I am over eating?
I seem to have a good amount of indigestion after I eat, is that normal or am i over eating? HELP!!!!
Thanks. kat
These are not stupid questions. You've never eaten with a tiny tummy before! I think you may be eating too fast or bites that are too big. Try eating with baby spoon. It forces you to slow way down. What food did you try first? A lot of people say they can't handle eggs at first. Are you taking your Protonix (or whatever you were prescribed?) When I first started eating I ate slowly and waited a few minutes after the frisrt few bites to see if the tummy was going to reject what was coming down. I don't know if I helped or not.

Happycat hit it right on the head. Always try something slow. Take a small bite and wait a few minutes to see if it agrees with "The Beast". You will know within just a couple of minutes if something is going to be okay for you. Then you can continue. The biggy I think a lot of folks mess up on is they try more than one thing at a time. Only try one thing one day then try a new thing the next. Best of luck to you and one last comment. There is no stupid questions.
Cheers!!

I've often heard (and I believe) that full after any WLS is a completely different physical feeling than prior too.
Before we often had hungry, not hungry, full, and overstuffed-and we intrepreted the last one as "full". Now we can't fill to the brim (or the brim is much smaller).
Some people get new full signs. For me, I lose interest and if I don't catch that-the next step is a small hiccup or a belch. If I let my head over ride those and I continue to eat, I will rapidly become very uncomfortable and or puke....so, if I belch before my head is done-I just put whatever it is up and eat it later when I'm hungry again. My head can't really argue with that and my tummy stays happy too.
I remember the first day I was allowed to eat soft foods. I wanted scambled eggs sooooo bad!!!! I was craving them. I used a big girl fork to eat them with and 2 or 3 bites later I was hugging the porcelan. DH and I went to the store immediately and bought me some baby utensil. As silly as it sounds it was the best thing ever. You may be using a smaller spoon then everyone else but because you can eat a spoon full on that small spoon you dont feel so left out. Actually I think ours are toddler spoons. 5 months out and I still sometimes will use my spoon with my jello. I still will once in a while eat to fast and to run to the bathroom.
Slow down, just like you have to sip sip sip... you have to take small bite wait small bite wait. We have to retrain our minds to make out new tummy happy. Hang in there it will get easier.
And dont forget there is never a stupid question here!!!!!!
