Bartlesville Here I Come!

I signed up for a Basic Rider Class in Bartlesville-apparently there are a lot of us basic riders (motorcyle) out there and I would have to wait until September or October to take one here in town.  That doesn't work for me, but I want to take the class.

Does Bartlesville have a motel?  (I'm not being ugly-I really don't know how big the town is or where the best places to stay would be).  Don't need nothin fancy, but do like clean and safe.

It's a two day class and I don't think camping will work, I will most likely want cool air and a TV by the end of the day.

Also, where on 66 is that big blue whale?  I've been dying to see it and I guess that will be the time to do it.

Hi Deb- Bartlesville is quite a good sized town. :) The place I stay when up there is the Microtel on the South side right on Hwy 75. It's pretty new and the people that run it are nice. I've never had problems there. :)  Good luck with your Basic Rider Class!!!! :) Sounds like fun! Liz

Deb, have a great time!  I took my basic rider class last summer and I really learned a lot.  I feel much safer on the roads since I went to class.  Be careful & have fun.  Stay hydrated ~ it will be hot out on the course.  I don't know anything about B-ville, but my DH did some work up there last year.  I think they stayed at a Be**Wes****.  Good luck & be safe!  ~w

Yeah, the hot thing is a problem for sure....and they require long sleeves?  I don't mind the jeans, cause I would feel like a dork in boots and shorts, although it doesn't stop me from cutting the grass that way. (hiking boots, not cowboy boots)

Yes there is several motels in the town.  I used to go up there several times a month to work in the Lowe's store doing resets.

What an awesome trip-the class is on a Sat/sun, starts early, so Friday I'll drop off doglets and Antique my way up the road to Bartlessville, stopping for sure in Bristow (home of the Serro Scotty Trailers for many years) and Skiatook (birthplace of Black Gold, a famous race horse).

Then two days of cycle class.  Then, hold on to your britches people....

I'll go back down to Foyil and see the world's tallest concrete totem pole, hit Catoosa for the big Blue whale, and head home in time to get the kiddos.

What an educational and historical journey!

That sounds like such a fun trip, Deb!  I don't know anything about Bartlesville, but now I'm wanting to go up there just to see all those tourist sites you mentioned.

Let me know when you are in Bartlesville.  I'd love to meet you!  There are several motels in town.  Microtel, LaQuinta, Best Western, Super 8, Hampton...  They are all on hwy 75. Riding sounds like fun :o)
