Breakfast?

What do you guys eat for breakfast?  I'm sick of cottage cheese and am not a big fan of scrambled eggs.  (sometime the banana doesn't like the eggs either)  So what do you have?  I need some suggestions!

Kim, I've never been a big breakfast person, but since surgery I have been making it a point to get something in - usually on the road to daycare.  Lately I have been eating the Kraft Twisted string cheese that has cheddar and mozzerella together along with about a half dozen smoked almonds.   Before that I was having some sort of cheese and a small piece of beef jerky (well chewed) or deli meat.  When I'm at home, I really like to have still warm boiled egg for breakfast - sometimes wrapped in a piece of swiss cheese. I have been trying to make sure I'm getting all my protein in each day from regular food, but lately I've been wondering about going back to some of the protein bars that I have left over from pre-op for breakfast food.  Did you ever find a bar/shake that you liked?  That might add some variety as well. I'm looking forward to ideas from others as well... always open to suggestions. John PS - I think you'll love Get Smart.  Watch close for the hidden funnies from the old TV series!

I like the protein wafers they sell at  WeightWise.  They are the best tasting of the lot but that's not really saying a whole lot.  But those are the only ones I've bought since surgery so I guess that's saying something.  I like the vanilla ones best.  They remind me of those wafer cookies that came in vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.  I guess that would be a good breakfast. I guess I could just eat some turkey and cheese.  And I do love beef jerky but I usually have that as a snack.  Yes, I know, I'm not supposed to snack.  But I've been hanging around Ruth and it's made me non-compliant.  (man, I better run before she whacks me!)

OOOOOHHHH You are SOOO in trouble missy!  I have been a GOOD GIRL lately too!!  I am hoping when I weigh this afternoon before support group that I might even be able to break the 170 mark!!  It is a lot easier when I am not sitting at my OWN house munching on the bad stuff my family brings in!!  I have increased my exercise and water intake as well (shut it all of you!!) and I think I am only a hop skip and jump away from my goal weight!!!   We'll hopefully have something good to report this evening.  I am even going to dress up for our meeting tonight - have to dress to impress you know!!!  Actually I just need to break out of this clothing rut I have myself in before I start work next week!!!  LOL  Like that place is any different - casual attire - jeans, t-shirts, yada....oh well!! I still do the protein bars periodically for breakfast - I like the double peanut butter and the chocolate marshmallow.  I put then in the fridge and they are awesome!!  I will probably be stocking up because my hours are going to be a killer on trying to get any protein in that early in the day!  Having to be at work at 6 am completely across the county is going to be a trial, but ....... The bacon and cheese deal would do well for breakfast - I would stay away from any types of cereal or oatmeal for awhile since you are still newly post-op.  Even the low sugar has carbs and will not hold you as well long term.  Stick with the meat and cheese thing and you should do fine.  Even if you ARE snacking as long as it is the appropriate type of food you won't get hung up on the wrong stuff. See ya later today sista girl!!!   LOVE YA!!

A protien bar.

Low Sugar Oatmeal or Kashi hot cereal with a shot of protein powder mixed in

A protein shake (especially if it's hot and I'm going to work outside)

a spoonful of peanut butter

couple of slices of bacon (that  pre made stuff)

Topping off leftover cold pizza.

Kim!!! I swear I was just sitting thinking about posting the same question and I log on and you've done it. It's not always convenient for me to make scrambled eggs. Most often I do the twisted string cheese. Have done half a protein bar (from pre-op) also. I don't care for cottage cheese at all. So I haven't had much variety. I tried the Boca turkey sausage patties yesterday and they were ok. I wonder about turkey bacon maybe. I don't know. Am at a loss. Thanks for posting. Am interested in the replies. Happy 4th Everyone!!!! Cindy

I had a piece of bacon while we were in Santa Fe and it went down fine.  (HappyCat had a mild dumping experience though!) I also had a piece of sausage while we were gone and that did fine too.  Obviously, fat doesn't bother my banana, dang it!  I should do up some sausage and then nuke one in the morning.  Brilliant idea! I just thought about deviled eggs.  I like those little babies!  Those suckers ought to slide right down!  We sparkly sisters think alike!  The sisterhood of SPARKLE!!!  You need to ditch the dang lake so we can sparkle around together, girlfriend!

Oooh!  Peanut butter!  Yummers!  But I'm wondering if it keeps the tummy full very long?!  I did buy some of that PB2 powdered peanut butter stuff but I haven't tried it yet.  I kinda forgot I had it in my arsenal.  I'll give that a whirl.  Some of that on 1/2 of a banana would be good.  A banana for my banana!

I don't know what is allowed or not as of yet, but when I was cooking high protein meals for my daughter, I would brown up turkey sausage, chop up canadian bacon, and also the precooked bacon. I also drained chopped spinich very well. I used swiss cheese, and cheddar cheese grated. I then used muffin tins, spray with pam and put mixtures in each.....Like spinich, swiss and ham, sausage and cheddar cheese, or bacon and cheddar...sometimes I would put spinich in each.....I would mix up a dozen eggs, then added egg to each tin or used egg beaters,   When they cook they rise pretty high, they will brown lightly. They fall after removed. Just make sure they don't giggle or they aren't done. Let cool and they can be frozen then quick thawed and eat. on the run. They have no crust. I would make 4 dozen all mixed up for them. It turned out great! He hubby hates spinich and even like these!   Just a thoughtl   Sherry I forgot....I chopped up green onions too and added to some....

When do you think you could deliver these?  They sound delicious!  Now since you're having surgery next week, maybe you could just whip up a batch and I'll even come pick them up from you!  Ha!  Just kidding!  I'm going to print this out because it sounds fabulous!  What a creative idea.  Do you remember what temp and how long you baked these?
