My mother just decided to give me an early inheritance.

My mother had decided long ago to save to give each of her 6 kids 10 grand each when she died. She is 80 now. She called today to tell my that my sisters had called her and asked her to give me my 10,000 early so that I can do the surgery.. She has decided to give it to me now! Yehaaaaa!! Now I just need 2500 more for the tests and then pass all of them!!  My mother and I have never got along much and she has always critized me to death about my weight.....how odd to have her saving my life now!  I'm getting closer!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!  Best thing she could have done for you and hooray for your siblings.  They must love you lots.  I also am being sleeved by Dr. Walton.  My date is July 9.  I come from the Dallas area and also am self-pay.  Best of luck to you.

Congratulations!!!! I hope your mom has recognized the harm in being critical and that your relationship grows closer. I'm thrilled you're so very close to your surgery and HOORAY for your sisters! : )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I am sooooo incredibly happy for you that I could burst!  That is such an amazing thing your sisters did for you and I'm glad your mom is agreeing and being supportive!  You are getting so close now, girl!

That is an awesome story-and the thing is, your mother will enjoy her part in your success so much more now than from the afterlife....so, whether she knows it or not, she's giving herself a gift as well.

Remember (and trust me when I say I remind myself of these daily and sometimes hourly) the parental weight criticisms come from a good, caring place-they just don't know how to phrase things to get their point across, so try and listen for what she means, not neccessarily what she says.

I bet she's really proud that she can still do something to help her kid out-that's a big issue at 80, feeling useless.  Yay MOM!
