The directions for adding a link in your post depends on which HTML editor you choose to use .... #1 or #2. Directions for both are below.
***************

If you use HTML editor #1 to post :

1) Copy the URL at the top of the screen of the page you want to link to

2) Begin to make a post

3) Write your post and HIGHLIGHT the word or words you want to turn into your link. Highlight them by left clicking and dragging your cursor over the word(s) you're choosing to make into a link

4) Click on the little *world with a chain link* in front of it - above the field for typing and to the right of the font size field

5) A box will open ... paste the URL you originally copied into the empty field and erase the second *http://* since it's already in place automatically by the box format, then click OK

6) If you want to BOLD the word(s) you're turned into a link, just click the big *B* above the typing area while your word(s) are highlighted.

7. Click Submit and you're done! : )

8. Go back to your post on the forum and click on the link you made to make sure it works

If you use HTML editor #2 to pos
t:

(This HTML editor allows you to make paragraphs, but it has a quirk! You cannot make links to other pages of the Obesity Help site using this editor ... they won't work, but you can link outside the ObesityHelp website without any problems.)

1) Copy the URL at the top of the screen of the page you want to link to

2) Once the URL is copied, Begin to make a new post

3) Write your post and HIGHLIGHT the word or words you want to turn into your link. Highlight them by left clicking and dragging your cursor over the word(s) you're choosing to make into a link

4) Click on the little *pale chain link* above the writing field to the right of the spellcheck symbol of *ab*

5) A new box will open. Copy the URL address into the top field. Choose in the next line if you want the link to open on the same page or on a new page. (If you choose to open the link on the same page, anybody that clicks on the link will be directed to a different page and then have to click their BACK button to get back to OH. I generally choose for the link to open a new page ... so when it's clicked it opens a new page for the user that they can then close and their original page will still be on OH.) Then name your link in the 3rd field and click INSERT.

6) If you want your link word to be bolded, click the big *B* at the top left of the typing field.

7) Click SUBMIT

8) Go to your post and click on your link to make sure it works.

If you have any questions let me know. After you do this a couple of times it's not hard at all! : )

I used to think I was a fairly intelligent person until computers were introduced into the entire world.  Now, I feel quite remedial!  You really should consider part time work as technical support and insturctor for people like me who just have no idea how to do all this wonderful stuff.  My brain is SO tired after a day at the office that it doesn't even sound like it's written in English!!!  On the weekend I am going to read this again! lol

Diana, once you get down just a tiny bit of the lingo and do a few things, I promise, it gets really easy. I'm old and I've learned it from a book. ; ) That should tell you how easy it really is!

That wasn't written in English.  I'm sure she'll post the translation this weekend some time!  Ha!
