Do you who have RNY ever wish you had the sleeve, and vice versa??

I just wondered if those of you who have had the RNY, ever wish the sleeve was available to you when you did the RNY and those who are choosing it now....why compared to the sleeve? What was the deciding factor?  AND...Those of you who have had the sleeve, do you wish you had gotten the RNY and why did you choose the sleeve instead?  Thanks

I've not had a single regret with having my sleeve.

I need to be able to take NSAIDs and other medications that aren't a possibility with RNY. I also didn't want to deal with issues of malabsorption, especially since I'm not a spring chicken any more and absorption of nutrients becomes less efficient as we age.

I know several that love their RNY's just as much I love my sleeve. : )

It's really a personal decision for what you choose is best for you.

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I have thought about why I didn't have the sleeve instead.  I am HORRIBLE about taking my vitamins and stuff.  I was bad about it pre-op and now that I NEED to take them I am just as bad.  I simply forget.  (I know I am going to get griped out for this one)

I would never gripe at you, Dan .... but you did give me an idea about posting a daily vitamin accountability thread. Interested? ; )

The reason I chose the sleeve was the less trouble with malabsorption and I don't have trouble with sweets.    I think those are the two most important differences to me.

What i wish for is a Genie....or a girl like that "bewitched" girl, someone soft, sexy, and sensous that could wiggle her nose or bounce her ead and make my cravings go away...or the calories go away from the dish before I ate it...  That would have been the procedure that I would have paid BIG money to have....ya..ya... that's the ticket.... hehe T.

Sherry, I have been with the RNY all the way since the beginning. Well actually at the beginning I was totally against WLS. (read MY Story on my profile, if you haven't allready) It has always been the best choice for me. I also asked DR. Walton, "If you were going to perform one WLS on one of your loved ones, which would it be?" You guessed it...The RNY. He says it is the cadillac of WLS.

All of the surgeries are of course just a tool. They will all work if you use the tool correctly. I have seen good and not so good results with all three of our surgeries. It's all how you choose to use the tool that you are given.

I am extremley happy with my decision.
