Turning Point

A turning point for me last year came when I realized that I wouldn't feed my leftovers to my dogs.  They're food was all organic, holistic healthy stuff (except what they get from grandma)....

So, now I buy good quality food that is at least good enough to feed to the dogs.  Older people will never get this...TABLE FOOD IS BAD for DOGS....came about when table food was bad for us too, we just didn't know it.  My leftovers are now low carb low fat high protein scraps good enough for my dogs.

I know we have a lot of pet lovers on here.  Would YOU feed your food to your dogs (or cats)?  If you feel like your food would be harmful for your pets, what does that say about what you are eating?

Well, you made me laugh outloud again! We've had the same realization at our house ... well, for the most part. ; )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I used to work at Southern Agriculture here in Tulsa and I learned a LOT about pet nutrition from them.  I would not want to feed my pets anything but whole grains and protein.  Lamb and rice formulas are excellent for younger dogs.  Tuna and salmon can't be beat for the little kitties.  I don't want my pets to be getting a lot of bad by-products.

Yep.  Although Prissy pranced up with a baby bird in her mouth tonight...guess she had a yen for Robin....

(Bird was gone, so I carried Priss to the trash can, she held the bird I held her over the can and she dropped it in.....I'm sorry people, it was CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE in a gross sort of way.)

My dogs love my new tummy.  Scooby hovers when it is meal time because he knows there is a good chance he will score some leftovers.  However, I recommend you do NOT share your refried beans!  It was not a pretty evening at my house the evening I shared my leftover beans with the dogs.  Let's just say that I was really glad I had lots of Glade room spray!   I have learned they don't like shrimp- but they licked the ****tail sauce off!  Go figure. I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I feed anything gassy early in the day where they can run it off and just a little kibble at night.  6 flatulent dogs can be a bit much to smell!

You guys are so funny...  You make me laugh every day.  I don't feed my dogs anything but dog food.  My husband is my left-over eater... Deb....the story of the bird was cute ("in a gross sort of way").  That sounds like something my doxie would do...(she likes to catch mice).

OMIGOSH-I had a built in flowerbed on an enclosed patio....and one day I went outside and the entire dirt supply was on the patio floor and there were 6 little mice carcasses laid out.  The silky and the rat terrier dug into their "roots" and went to town.
