The vacation cure for a stall

I came home 3 pounds lighter than when I left for vacation!!!  I had been stuck for 3 1/2 weeks!!!  Maybe I should go out ot town to break all of my stalls???   We had a great time.  I had tastes of all the good foods that Santa Fe has to offer.  I did not miss the huge plates of food.  I totally enjoyed my tiny portions and tastes of the good stuff.  I did not feel deprived in any way.  I even had a few bites of cake to celebrate my birthday.  I ate exactly the number of bites I had already decided to have and no more.  I did not want another bite.  The amazing thing is that there was cake left on the plate that went back to the kitchen.  I did NOT feel compelled to fini**** (you know you shouldn't waste perfectly good food!) Hmmm. where do I go tor my next stall??? Denise
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

WOOOOHOOOO!! I'm so happy for you! Isn't it funny how that happens? Mine broke and I lost weight in Vegas. Who'd a thought that?? Am on perpetual vacation at the lake for 2 weeks without a scale. Hope it's continuing here. LOL Congrats!!!! Cindy

Denise, Congratulations and Happy Birthday!  It just hasn't been the same around the boards without you and Kim the last few days. I am so happy for you that your "body readjustment period" (Ruth says not to use the "s" word..) has finally come to an end.  I was getting worried that you'd be out looking for a Dr. give you the rest of a DS before too long.  (not that there's anything wrong with that...) I would humbly suggest Washington DC for your next stall (damn - I mean body readjustment).  Lots and lots of fun and interesting things to do, and most of them involve walking.  My 10 year old and I are hoping to get back there this fall - I can't wait.  If you do go, I suggest picnic lunch from the deli counter at Dean & DeLuca - all sorts of wonderful cheeses and meats to try out. Again - it's so great to see you back online - I'm hoping to you see on Thursday at Support Group! John

I prefer the word "plateau" over "stall" lol... and may I suggest the fine cuisine of San Antonio (aka home sweet home)... I am still scared to eat much down there, it's so rich and I'm *almost* 4 years out, but that is some authentic food.  Glad to know your "stall" is over, Denise... that is great to hear that you're losing again and doing great!

Oooooh, I need a road trip so baaaaaaaaad.  But it is not to be at the moment.

I love local cuisine and that hasn't changed since banding-I just eat less.

Thanks all!  I really think it was the retail therapy that did the trick.  You have to walk a lot of miles to find that perfect bargain!  I am thinking the Galleria in Dallas for the next stall (Yeah, bite me, Ruthie! Love ya!  BUT, it was a stall!) Ooh, and I found a Wii Fit while I was there.  I plan on firing it up this evening.  I can't wait! Denise

I've been stalled for three months-I think we should all plan a mercy trip to get me moving again......Shopping for Deb  (but you get to keep what you buy).

I'm so happy for you that your STALL is over!    I know that when I got back from vacation, I had lost more than I expected.  Maybe we all need to just look into being on perpetual vacation!!!
