That you loved to eat pre-op that you didn't think you could live without, but have not missed it as much as you thought you would?

Mine is ICE CREAM. Let me just tell you that I used to be able to put some of that stuff away. Is was nothing for me to eat a whole gallon in one days time. I haven't had it in about 7 months and to my surprise I really haven't missed it. Thank God for the fear of dumping.

My next things would be COKE  and CHIPS. Thank God for so many crystal light flavors. I haven't really found anything to replace the crunchy comfort of chips though. Almonds have come pretty close. Hope you guys have a great week . Rita

I loved french fries before...I admit it...I tried them...one here...one there...stolen from my kids meals...different places...Burger King (my old fave), McDonalds, Wendys...I HATE THEM NOW!!!  THEY TASTE LIKE GREASE.  DISGUSTING!!!!  Isn't that WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!  YEAHHHH!!!!!!  I haven't tried real ice cream.  I have had no sugar added fat free frozen yogurt.  It hurts my tummy so we aren't going there anymore!  I miss my chips too!  I love to crunch especially when I am agitated or stressed...so I chew gum like a mad woman or eat a SMALL amount of popcorn...or chew ice...love that soni**** Diet Dr. Pepper was my addiction...now replaced with coffee in the morning and crystal light the rest of the day.  I LOVED FROZEN MARGARITAS!  I had one on our third anniversary and it didn't kill me!!  But let me tell you...I was quite wobbly!!!  They pack a lot more punch after surgery!!

Popeye's spicy fried chicken. Tried it in a moment of weakness. It was nasty and had a "General Sherman meets Atlanta" trip through my innards. Very satisfying once I realized the significance.

LMAO Earl I felt the same way the other night when I ate the exact same thing.  I was like "I used to like this?"  For those missing Ice Cream I tried some buttered pecan fat free yogurt from Braum's the other night and it was divine.  As for what I used to eat that I dont really miss anymore is pizza.  I would order a large pizza at least every other week, sometimes every single week.  And the more toppings the better.  I have ate pizza twice now since then...Once I scraped the toppings off and the other time it was a thin and crispy slice and it didnt bother me too much since there wasnt much to the crust.  One last thing I LOVED and now I cant even stand the SMELL of it was Dr.Pepper.  I took a very small sip of it at our Meet and Greet from Dionne's husband Roger and when it first hit my lips it tasted good then I wanted to gag cause the further down it got the worse it tasted.  YUCKO.

My weakness before surgery was fried chicken strips with french fries and white gravy...talk about some yummo! Chili's was my favorite. But I have found replacements. Grilled chicken with butternut squash fries is really good, ketchup though sadly, does not taste like white gravy. Another thing was sweet tea! I could drink gallons of sweet tea a day. I really do miss that one now, but again, I've made an alternate version. Decaf Lipton with Splenda instead of sugar. Now let's see, something I had before that I don't miss now would be bread. I loved bread before, and I don't even mind not having it around. Another thing would be any type of soft drink, I can't stand the smell of any of them now lol.

I'm with Dan ~ mine was pizza...The more toppings & cheese the better....Ma...ios was my favorite.  Sometimes I feel the urge, but just thinking about the sheer size of a slice makes me shudder.  YIPPIE!!!  I never thought I'd say that.  Thanks again Dr. Walton!!!

Have you tried Fuji Apple Chips? They are baked and the only ingredient is apples. They are very crunchy and come in several flavors (six if I remember correctly).
