My weight wise visit today
The best part of my day today was getting to meet 3 fellow OH'ers!! I met Thomas (in his hospital bed), Ruth (keeping Thomas out of trouble and walking and sipping!), and Liz (Nickelgirl)!! Of course, I got to see Rita a little bit today too while she was working.
Thomas was a little drugged up, I think... So, he may not even ever remember me... LIz is doing good at two weeks out, and Ruth is SKINNY!
It was just SOOO nice meeting them.
Now, on to the main reason I went down there. I was early, so that is when I first met Ruth, Liz and Thomas... They had horror stories to tell me about the phleb who was going to be drawing my blood... Yeah, he was weird, but at least he got it on the first stick and I'm not bruised! Then, I had my dietitian visit. Before that, they LOST my chart... Well, not really, but they forgot to put it up for the nurses to know I was there! I finally went up there and asked if the NUT was running late and it was then that they realized that they didn't put my chart up!
It was OK though. I guess they were new, and I've worked in Dr.'s offices before and know how it can happen... I got to talk to a really nice nurse though and she seemed very appreciative that I wasn't mad about the error.
My weight was EXACTLY the same as it was on 5-22! Dr. B said MAINTAIN, and maintaining is what I'm doing! The nutritionist said I was already doing pretty well with my current diet, but did tell me a couple of things I'm going to have to stop after surgery. It's all good!
I have to go to a nutrition class on 7-9 and I hope to also have my pre-op appt on that day too. I am supposed to get a call from my patient advocate Mon or Tue with a DATE!!! Yeah, a SURGERY DATE!! Looks like it should happen for me late July or early August!
Then I had the exercise class. It wasn't as bad as I was afraid it was going to be. So that was good. The worst part of my whole day was driving down there in the rain :(
Thanks for reading if you made it this far!
Dot
Dot, you come across as the most bubbly person! I am afraid to talk to myself, much less try to meet people. I used to be able to do it! I will be at the meeting on the 3rd and will try to open my mouth to say hi! I'm excited for you getting your date soon. I'm working on some issues but am hoping to get through them soon and also get a date. Thanks for the warning about the vampire on staff. Maybe I will be lucky on the 7th and he will be on vacation or something!! Sherry

Dot, I am so thrilled for you. I hope to meet you some day, you seem like such an intersting person.
Dan/Sherrie-I'll put my veins up against Sherries to see who has the easiest veins....and my Mom would beat us both, but she's old and probably shouldn't be guinea pigging.
Hint for the future: YOU CAN be reassuring without talking a whole lot. Some folks need the distraction, I need the focus to remain calm and I will talk to you AFTER the stick part is over if you really have something to say. Just be positive and say with enthusiasm "Ok, let's get this done...."....THAT's how I like it done....LOL>
