3 miles on the recumbent with lots of "hills"....I will push myself harder on the stationary because I don't have to worry about things like balance or cars, etc.
My big tip for stationary hills is warm up first before setting high resistance, and cool down slowly by slowly dropping the resistance. That will keep you from cramping up when you get off the bike. I'd like to be able to climb hills in the real world too, but it's going to take awhile to get there.
