surgery question...

I don't think the open RNY would be a good comparison surgery to the laproscopic RNY.  I had the open RNY/gallbladder removal (at the same time).  I've also had the abdominoplasty/hernia repair (that thing was worse than the open RNY, pain-wise, at least for me) and a c-section (soon to be 2 c-sections).  I am sure you do experience pain with the lap. RNY, but I am hoping that it will be minimal and that you would be on the road to a speedy recovery soon.  I wish I could be of more help, but I've yet to have any laproscopic procedures done.

wow everyone thank you so much you all have put my mind at ease... I was really worried becuase my surgery last year was so painful and I was scared that it was going to be like that all over again... But I dont think it will be as bad and Im sure I will recover a lot faster than my surgery last summer.

I had an On Q ball! Dr. Nelson put it in my largest incision (where they took the stomach remnant out) and oh, I did love it. They took it out the morning of the 2nd day just before I went home. I was very thankful for that little ball! : )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly
