What Happens Eventually
This isn't a happy thread just so you know.
I got a call last night to find out that my uncle's mom, who has been sick for quite some time, had passed away. The reasoning was that her colon leaked and her kidneys weren't working. She was about 4'8 and almost 300 pounds. She was wheelchair bound and never really moved a whole lot. She never tried to lose the weight. The doctor told the family that if she had been mobile and not so obese, she would have had a much greater chance of surviving and recovering.
This just goes to show that obesity is deadly. I am so glad that we have all gotten this thing under control or are taking the steps to get it under control. She died a slow and uncomfortable death, and I would never wish that on anyone.
I'm so sorry to hear of your family's loss. I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers.
My father passed away with obesity complications in 1992 ... limbs amputated inches at a time, dialysis, blindness, heart bypass surgery, and he finally succumbed to sepsis. He had terrible diabetes and was never compliant. Bless his heart, he could never see beyond his immediate wants for food or alcohol. I hope I learned from his suffering and choices. I still miss him greatly.
