I was wondering if anyone had a working "list" of places that accept our little yellow cards saying we have had surgery and need smaller portions.  I am looking for dinner date ideas that AREN'T fast food joints.

I've eaten out at several local Mexican places in the last 10 days or so.  I ordered off the children's menu twice.  Once I just said I had WLS and the other time I offered no explanation.  I got no grief either time.  Last night I was at another Mexican resturant and ordered off the regular menu.  I ordered a burrito without the tortilla and no rice.  Again no questions.  Tomorrow night I am going to Applebee's.  We'll see the response there.  So far I have had such positive responses.  Just go for it.  The worst they can do is say no and then you will just have left overs for a few more meals.  And, you don't ever have to go there again
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I was thinking Red Robin since they also have Minute Maid Light Lemonade.  I kinda thought $10 for a burger was high priced though.  Maybe not.

I found the Minute Maid Light at Target Supercenter and they are $1.48 per carton.  They also have light in these flavors:  limeade, raspberry something and tangerine something.  All are good and the same low calorie.  I can't keep enough of the limeade in the house for my husband.  He is guzzling it!

I eat out regularly with family and with friends and I tend to eat a lot of leftovers...  I have not minded it over the years.  I also share meals with people a lot... if you have someone to do that with, it can be fun and save money.  Sometimes, I also eat a la carte and appetizers.  Just depends.  I've gotten creative over time.

I know this doesn't really apply to where you live; but I just got home from Vegas. Randy and I went to the buffet at the Nugget and just paid for one adult. When the waitress saw there were 2 of us, but we only paid for one, she asked us about it and I told her I had WLS. She asked if I had a card so I showed it to her. Not only was I surprised she knew about the card; she was so caring and sweet about it! Said they will normally charge a child's rate if you have the card. Said if it looks like I eat that much then they'll charge me. Ok, so I finish my 10 bites of stuff and she laughs and said, "The mice here eat more than that". Just a little funny for you tonight. Yeah I guess I should have been a little more clear.  I was looking for names of places everyone has gone that will allow us to use our card and show that we have had surgery and get smaller portions.  Trust me I know all about leftovers, lol.

I always ask to order off the senior menu if there is one-I've never had to show the card an I don't think I look 55 but I could be wrong....

Sometimes I just make up what I want and as if they can do that for a decent price-like, at Mimi's I want one crabcake (there are two on the appetizer) and a bowl of soup.  As a rule, the nicer the place, the more accomodating they are.

Sushi places are cool because you actually can order bite by bite and the sushi chefs LOOOOOVE peope who chew their food well.  I got high marks last time I had sushi from the chef.  Watch out for the rice though if you dump-it's soaked in sugar water.

Another thing I do is order a sanwich or tacos and then just eat the meat-it's usually the right amount and it's less expensive than a full on meal.

Mexican resaurants usually have  nice shrimp coctails that are full on meals for us.  I like little local ones rather than chains.

Or, if your date has had WLS or just eats smaller portions, share a dinner.
