Scale Bounce

Yep, liquids are my friend!  Surely a couple of day of liquids will bounce it right back in place.  Of course that means nothing for me tomorrow night at Applebees but my DH says he will make up for it! LOL!

I'd say just do what the other ladies have suggested with the liquids and try not to stress and don't cancel, girl.  I quit weighing at home because it always weighed more than what the doctor's scale said.  Hang in there... you're going to make it!

Amy - I don't think you need to cancel your pre-op. And I don't think the two lbs that showed up on the scale are true weight gain. Do liquids if you can, but if that is not doable, just increase your water by an extra 16 oz, per day (just don't drink before you go weigh in!!!) and substitute a couple of meals with a protein drink. Don't stress over this, after all the obstacles you have had to overcome, don't stress about the scale - you do have more than a week to surgery. On my one day of liquid (day before surgery) I lost four lbs. -So keep positive, for all you know, these two lbs may have disappeared by tomorrow morning! Anna....----P.S. What time is your appt? I have an appt at 10 with Dr. B on Tuesday.

I'm 10:30 on Tuesday morning so I will look for you.  Lovetosparkle and Cowboy will be there too, they have appts before us.  I just don't want to make them mad if I come in and am off by one pound or something.  They said Dr. B. has really tightened up on making sure everyone loses all the weight before he will even do a pre-op appt anymore.  I guess in the end I have done really good and I'm sure they want my $10,000+ so maybe if the scale is not cooperating they will let me stop in 1 or 2 days later to step on the scales again.  I'm doing liquids and hopefully this will be a non issue.  At least my cold is way better today.  I'm hoping it will be pretty much gone tomorrow.

Amy, you have lost so much weight already.  Surely you have done enough pre-op.  I thought you only had to lose 34 pounds.  Your ticker shows 41 pounds gone.  What's up with the increased requirements? Denise
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Stupid me went on a diet BEFORE my consultation with Dr. B. I lost 7 pounds but they don't count it because it was before my appt.  But, I count it because it is fat that came off my body whether or not they recognize it or not.  I adjusted my ticker when I weighed 309 yesterday.  I didn't adjust it back because that 2 lbs is not permanent (she says yelling at the fat on her body!).

Water pill but not right before surgery because it dehydrates you. I was on liquids only for 24 hours prior to surgery anyway..I took too many water pills and dehydrated so my veins were hard to find. You still may be retaining water though you don't feel it yet. Don't cancel and no sodium of any kind in anything!!
