How much can you eat?
Just a quick little survey to cure my curiosity.....
And I guess this is mainly for RNY post ops.
How much food can you eat? How satisfied do you feel? How far out (post op) are you and at what level has your food intake changed? I guess more or less what I want to know is what your eating habits have been throughout this process.

I am almost 10 months postop. I still cant eat that much food....3 or 4 good bites (eating slowly) and I am full. I am very seldom hungry and when I do eat, I am usually satisfied unless I know what I ate probably wasnt the most smart of choice.... I do eat 6 or so times a day. I still cant eat eggs which kind of bothers me....
My husbands says I am a cheap date now when we go out to eat because we only order one meal, what I want to eat, and he finishes it....
I am a little over 6 mos out, and it really depends on what I am eating as to how much. If it is slider foods like yogurt, cottage cheese, chili....then about a cup. Anything dense and it is probably half that.
I still have no hungry, unless it is head hunger because I will smell something really good and then want it. Especially if it has onions in it! I still can't eat pork chops, too dry. I have been able to eat small amounts of steak recently (about 2 ounces) and boy is it yummy. Of course I fix mind rare like I used too. I will buy a thick steak and then cut it up into protions just my size so I don't waste it. Never seems to go down as good when it is re-heated.
I have discovered my next favorite food is brisket with bar-b-que sauce. Chicken i**** and miss for me and its all I ever used to eat. Now it is alot of seafood instead. String cheese is my main stay for a fast breakfast on the run. Otherwise, I will mix some pears or mandarin oranges in my cottage cheese or yogurt.
I still do a protein drink a day to get all my protein to stop the hair from falling out!

It depends on the food and the day. Truly, it does. Some days what seems like a lot, and others not much of anything. I eat 3 times a day. I'm not one who can do 6 small meals a day. Dr. Walton said to stick to 3 a day.
How satisfied do you feel? Very satisfied on a small amount of food. I don't measure mine since he said not to count calories. I eat slowly to satiety. I know what doesn't work well in my pouch.
How far out? I am 8 months out as of the 18th of June.
Food intake changed??? Salsa goes on everything and I crave tomatoes which I hated before. Everything is healthier, and when I snack I snack on fruit.
Eating habits changed? I no longer eat Cheese Doodles all day long or drink pop after pop after pop, though some days I want a full strength Cherry Coke from Sonic so bad I can't stand it! I eat very healthy now..nothing fried or breaded has passed my lips since a year ago this month when I started the pre-surgery diet.
