Bucket List

After seeing this posted (somewhat) below, I decided I wanted to make a list of things i just have to do.  These are things that I wouldnt even have thought of doing before i had surgery.  Now I am telling myself I HAVE to do them.  Here they are, in no particular order..... 1) Walk part of the Great Wall of China.  I love oriental culture and the whole history of the Wall.  And hey it would be some kcik butt exercise. 2) Walk the Appalachian Trail.  I have actually wanted to do this one since I was a kid and heard about a family friend doing it.  I love nature and the woods and would be so at peace with myself and God doing this one. 3) BASE jump.  BASE stands for Building, Archway, Structure, Earth.  Basically it is skydiving, but only off of the 4 above mentioned things.  It's very hard to do since it is against the law to jump from so many places anymore. 4) Walk all the trails again that I was able to walk as a kid at Yellowstone.  There is a story about this one.  As a kid I walked all over Yellowstone when i went there with my parents.  11 years ago I went there with my fiancee at the time.  I was 260 then but so out of shape from working desk jobs.  I made it about 1/10th of the way up this one hillside trail and had to stop for fear of having a heart attack.  I know I could make it up that trail now. 5) Swim with sharks.  If there is one think I am scared to death of its sharks.  I want to overcome this fear and swim with them (the ones who wont bite my legs off at least). 6) Play with dolphins.  Whats not to love about a dolphin?  I love to swim and so do they, we would be perfect buddies. 7) Go on a cattle drive.  I grew up with cattle and horses yes, but nothing like the old west days.  I have heard and read about big cattle drives that happen every year where they start in like Texas and drive the cattle up to Kansas (I think).  That would be a dream of a lifetime to do this. 8) Participate in a Civil or Revolutionary War reenactment.  Self explanatory I would think. 9) Buy and restore a 1968 "Elenore" Mustang.  10) Visit Skywalker Ranch.  The home studios of Star Wars and all other Goerge Lucas works.  its a ranch, museum, nerds dream, you name it. 11) Go to a NASCAR race and get to meet my favorite driver Tony Stewart.  This one is GOING to happen folks, mark my word. Anyone else want to post up their lists?

Number 1, is to be able to qualify for this sleeve....I am terrified that it won't come to pass. I fear getting my hopes up and then won't qualify.....I am the one who mentioned the Bucket List earlier. Two of the things I mentioned were River Raft Riding and to Sky Dive just once in my life, or Parasailing!!! I have to laugh at your list because I too would love to got on a trail ride for days. I have actually thought about how I could get a horse and just me and my dog go across the country....Crazy I know but I grew up on horses and it has been a life time it seems since I have riden anywhere. There is no way to explain the freedom you feel on a horse! My dad was so into the Cowboys of years past...Ken Maynard, Tom Mix all the oldies. He had an entire collection of the original posters(now split up and under 6 kids beds and in garages) I'd love to have a job on an Island where  you didn't have to dream of a great job in a place you love and enjoy it!! I got that dream on Costa Maya!!!  I would love to meet Paula Deen!( I love her take on food). I guess one of my first numbers would  have to be  to come out of this shell that this weight has locked me in....and for my children to understand how paralized I feel at times to even step out of the door... Ok for the rest.....Go see the Red Wood forest again, see Mt. Rushmore and to stand on the edge of the Grand Canyon and feel so small in this world!! I can go drive a Nascar Car at Dover Downs anytime I want to but Im too embarrassed, so that will be on the other side. I think my bucket list will change as I do....in fact I know it will.

I hafta say that after reading your list....mine was too superficial. Your made me tear up a little because I completely understand how you feel. This weight that we carry around with us has kept us from living with joy. Joy of riding a horse....joy of having a dream job....joy of being with the people you love. It is hard to realize that we deserve that in our lives. But I have seen over the past few months some on this board make huge steps to getting the joy back in their lives. It is a beautiful thing to watch. You hang in there girl....I, for one, am cheering you on!

Liz's Bucket List: 1. Take my son to Disneyland and run and play and ride ALL the rides. 2. Sky diving (see the post "I wanna go sky diving") :) 3. Go to the beach and enjoy basking in the sun without looking like a beached whale! 4. Go rock climbing. 5. My all-time excercise goal is to run a marathon and qualify for the Boston. It'll happen...you just wait. :) 6. Go horse-back riding. Never did it as a kid and always wanted to. I'm kind of a cowboy lover. If I could marry a man with a lil ranch, I think I'd be in heaven. Cowboys are sexy. ;) 7. Sing on a stage in front of thousands of people again. It's my most favorite place to be. Not that I can't do that now...I just haven't had the confidence. Can't wait to belt it out with my skinny self! ;) 8. I want to go to Italy. Such a romantic place...of course, I'll have to take someone with me...or pick up a local! ;) lol I might think of some more later. I'll share if I do. :) Have a beautiful day!!!
