Tulsa....Saturday????
Deb~ Okay, dear...I always thought you were an interesting individual and thought about wanting to meet you, but THIS JUST TAKES THE CAKE!!! A baby snake???!!!! LOL! I don't live in Tulsa but hubby and I were planning on going on Saturday to pick up his new glasses we ordered on Wed. I would love to get to get together. Not sure when (as soon as the boss "aka, my son" wakes us up). We could probably do the after lunch thing. I'll drop you my number later today. Hope to hear or see you Sat. ~J
Hmmmmmmmm..snakes and Tulsa at the same time? Can't do it!
Not bashing my friends from that area at all. I just simply hate driving in Tulsa, and if I never have to do it again, I will be completely content. I always get lost where the turnpike splits and wind up going the wrong way.
Snakes are my biggest, major fear, Deb. We have a black mondo one here. Would you please come get him before I run him over with my Dodge Hemi quad cab truck????
I love all of God's creatures, but the snakes have no place in my heart.
Anyway, in all seriousness, I would love to meet you at Starbucks with any of your menagerie you choose to bring, but I won't be there..I'll hopefully be walking in Mitch Park and not alone!

LOL-how do you feel about rats and mice? A big old snake like that would only hang around if there was a lot to eat. He's doing you a favor, really he is. The big black ones are rat snakes and not agressive unless you pick them up (and good luck catching him to do that). We used to call them black racers. Non venomous. It's amazing how fast they are-he can crawl on his belly faster than you can run.
I hate rats and mice. We live in a wooded area of Edmond and have an acre and a half. TRUST ME: I am NOT going to try to catch him. I didn't see him until I"d already walked past the sucker. Hmm...he can chase me faster than I can run...great...just great..
He has a really small head compared to his black body. Ick..
I'm hoping he's doing the neighbors the favor. I refuse to go outside without looking down first these days.
There are lizards about..one got in the house somehow fight after my surgery, and my DS laughed at me going after him with the broom and then finally my foot. No way was I going to catch him either.
The rest of the wildlife here is great..I have (or had depending on that dratted snake) a lot of squirrels and a Mama deer.

All colubrids have small heads-but if it's really really small, he's obese. Yes, snakes can have obesity issues too. Ok, Maybe I'm being judgemental-he needs fat stores to make it through the winter so in the wild, he'll fast it off. In captivity, they just get fatter and fatter-it's kind of sad. They don't get stretch marks, but the really fatso ones have spaces between their scales....that is a sign of snake morbid obesity.
See, they are like us in a lot of ways.
