Visited Heather Today

I got to visit Heather in the hospital today. She looks very good and has been up walking and doing all the things they tell us to do. I also got to meet her husband and 2 older children ...  what a great family!

She says to say *Hi* to everyone and that she's sorry she missed the get together last night. She hopes to make the next one!

Heather should be able to go home soon and I wish her a very speedy recovery.

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Since I live in Norman, I try my best to go up and visit the people from this board, or those I've met at OWLO, when they have their surgery at our local hospital. (I do call first to make sure they feel up to having company before I just show up.)

We all try to support each other here and many of us visit others in the various hospitals post-op.

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I think that is truely amazing... everyone in this forum is so very kind and sweet,  find it kinda sad how its so hard to meet nice people these days...

Ruth and I both try to stop by WeightWise when one of our peeps has surgery.  It's very close to my house and I'm a bit of a mother hen!  Like to make sure all my chickies are doing well!

I had some people from Wichita Falls (who I'd never met before) come see me when I had my surgery at United Regional and one even brought me a little basket with protein samples and all sorts of stuff... and my family was there as well, of course.  I'm glad Heather is doing well.  I wish her a great continued recovery!  I wish I could be an "angel" sometimes and visit people in the hospital, but I'm so far away from everyone... I just try to offer the best support I can on here.

That s a great thing-the visits.  I'm a Mexico chica and it was ok, but it would have been more fun to talk to somebody who knew exactly how I felt....cause you wake up going "oh my, WHAT did I just do?"   (For me it was the bloated belly, and I'd had lap surgery before, but after WLS it's just RUDE to wake up with a swollen tummy).

I was in Tijuana though, so I'm sure a lot people wake up thinking the same thing....LOL.

Sorry if that sounded whiney.   I was actually in a very nice Mariott with HBO and a good book with room service (although all they would bring me was water).
