I like to wear a cotton tank top and elastic waist shorts or sweats, with a hoodie (short sleeve) over it and flip flops or crocks. Not the most glamorous get up but easy to get in and out of, with layer options in case you get chilly.
Ipod if you have one-when you are first waking up it's hard to watch TV but having some good tunes can help pass the time.
Socks....my feet always get cold. A book. Blistex or chapstick.
You aren't going to be too happy to have too much elastic at your waist. If you have some drawstring jammie pants that would be a good choice. I wanted my panties AASP so I changed the first time I got out of bed. I wore my most stretched out, beat up gym pants and a giant T-shirt. I never changed again until I got home. I took my laptop which I used for about 30 minutes total. I was too sleepy to get bored. You will do great!

For the first 2 weeks, you will be on a chewable multi-vitamin twice a day. I bought Centrum and though it's not my favorite taste in the world, it's ok. The do sell some at WeightWise but I haven't tried them. You will start calcium, B12 and iron after that 2 week period. (iron is dependent on whether your get your monthly visitor or you're done with that part of life!) You will be required to come to a post-op nutrition class on a Friday at 1:30 pretty soon after surgery and before you start mushies. They'll explain the rest then and answer questions. They will charge a $10 fee that day. (go figure - why don't they just put that in with the 10K)
My waist was not sore at all so elastic waist worked for me!
On the day before surgery when you're on liquids, I would encourage to hydrate as much as possible. It makes it easier for them to start the IV if you are not dehydrated at all!
Let us know if you have any more questions!
Oh you guys are lucky with the 1 night hospital stay... Sounds like you have great doctors and a great hospital up there! Good luck with your surgery Monday! I think you're ready to go!

Get some jammie pants and roll the waist band down. I was only in overnight myself. Change of clothes and blow dryer recommended. Add to your list for home a body pillow. Mine was a godsend when I sat in my chair or slept in bed for the first time.
You'll be up walking and won't have time to be bored!
Looks like your questions have all been answered so I'll just say....you're right, you probably won't sleep much this weekend. I know I didn't, I was very excited to get to the bench. Plenty of time to sleep on surgery day.
So good luck and we'll be watching for that first posted progress report. Buckle up....the journey is about to begin! Wendy

I knew I would be in the hospital for 2 nights so I brought 2 sets of pj's but I wish I would have brought more because they used a pain pump and it leaked all over my pj's. I just got home today and didn't really feel like doing laundry but I'm sure it will come out.
About the vitamins....they say that it is best to buy the vitamins at their store because they are specifically designed for bariatric patients and the way things are newly absorbed now. I'd rather not take the chance so i just went ahead and bought theirs. The multi vitamin is soooo yummy!!!
