well the wait is over, my surgery day is on monday june 23rd. Anyone with some words of encouragement for the old cajun gal. It didn't hit me that it was really happening until I paid for everything on tuesday and that was my first wow moment, thanks to all for the wonderful updates, I guess I just need a few more of those wonderful words to get me through the weekend. I also would love if for anyone who wants to visit me in the hospital to stop by and introduce yourself, I could really use some more friends in this journey.  thanks again for everything!!!

I'll keep you in my prayers this weekend for a great weekend and a great surgery on Monday and a speedy recovery. I'm just over 7 weeks out and I'm thankful every single day that I had my surgery done. I was off all of my BP medication between week 3 and 4 post-op. I'm thrilled to be exercising, having fun, and not being controlled by food. I wish you the very best! What hospital will you be in?
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Words of Wisdom: God is Good!!  He will take care of your needs and ensure that you have provided for you exacty what you need!! Listen to your doctors, nurses, Nut, etc!!  They KNOW what they are doing!! You always have support here!! Take a DEEP BREATH and hang on for the ride!!  It is an awesome journey and you will NOT regret it!  The first few days may cause some doubt, but you WILL get past it.  Kind of like having a baby - while you are going through it you think "Never again!!" but ..... Good Luck and I'll try to get up to see you at the hospital Monday evening!!

Hey girl... I will definitely be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for your surgery on Monday... You are going to do so great!  If I was closer than all the way over here in Altus, I'd drag my pregnant self in there to visit in a heartbeat!  I know we can all use all the encouragement and support we can get!  See you on the loser's bench!

First of all, congratulations on your surgery! I am SO excited for you!!! I know you'll do great. I am one week out and I am SO loving my little tummy. There have been so many changes already, and there are more and more each day. I'm feeling good and have a lot of energy (unless I overdue myself).  My words of advice would be to let yourself rest! I think I jumped right back into the swing of things too quick and didn't let myself rest like I should have for as long as I should have. I'm now taking it easy. I am working, but it is an office job, so I'm taking it easy. :) Just rest and heal. In the words of my glittery friend Kim, "The laundry will be there tomorrow. You can rest tonight!!!" :) lol  Good luck and know I'm praying for you through this journey!!!! Liz

It's going to be just fine. You are in good, experienced hands. You've come through one of the hard parts: actually making the decision and sticking through it all. Advice: Walk as much as you can in the hospital. The more you move the faster the gas moves and exits and the faster the pain goes (for me anyway). They got me up in the middle of the night, and I walked 1 lap. The nurse guided me to my room, and I asked for 1 more. So, we made 3 laps the first time I was up. With the morning was more laps and a shower. After the shower, I watched Marie Antoinette on the free in-room PPV movies. Then, the rest of the day I walked. I even walked outside keeping in mind that I wouldn't walk any further than I thought I could make back to my room. I kept setting off the oxygen thing, so they took it off, and I was compeltely untethered to anything. I could've gone home after "lunch" but my ride was in Enid, so I wound up leaving at 6 the evening after my surgery. More advice: Rest, sip and stick to med schedule. Let everybody take responsibility at home until you're up and at it to get back to your normal routine. My son lifted laundry baskets so I could hang clothes with his help, etc. Get a body pillow and use it behind your back in your chair, in your bed, etc. Don't hesitate to call the hospital with questions. They're great about answering them. Take toiletries and a change of clothes. Everything else can stay at home, unless you want your iPod when you're walking.

congrats!  This will be a great summer for you! My advise is to take pictures onces a month. It is such an encouragement to be able to look back at the transfermation, especially during the hard times.  Don't stress over the darn scales!!!!!! If you have to, put them away!!!! You're body will do strange things over the next couple of months, and up and downs in weight, stalls, and things like that are NORMAL!!! They in no way make you non-successful!  Stay in touch with support people. This site, or physical support people. Don't let go of them. We're the one who understand when the rest of the "world" has all the negative to say (and they will)!  CONGRATS again!!!!
