What about pork rinds?  They have no carbs, lots or protein, and unforutnately a little too much fat.  But, they are a much better choice than chips and other junk food.  How about the soy crispy things sold at the doctor's offices?  I havent' checked the nutrition info but maybe they would work.  Would pickles work?  I love dill pickles and they come in baby gherkin size.  Maybe a few baby carrots dipped in fat free dressing.  Hope this helps. Denise

I do like pork rinds, I need to get  some of those, haven't in awhile.  Not sure what the soy crispy things are you were talking about.  And I do love pickles, funny story today - I was at the Cottoneyed Joes snowcone place and they have sugarfree snowcones, yummie, well I saw that they had frozen pickle juice for .55 cents so I thought hmm, oh ok, well I got it, they served it in a small cup used for salad  dressing, i  licked it and oh my go**** was so sour and it felt like I was licking a salt lick, lol.  Wow... I am scared of eating raw carrots, haven't tried them since surgery.  Thanks for the reply.  Have a great night. Brenda

I dont know about anyone else but I have dumped BAD on pork rinds.  I ate like two or three of them just to see how i would react to them and within minutes I was puking them back up.  I waited a week and tried a couple again.  Same outcome.  My favorite "crunch" right now is steamed broccoli.  I use a little Ragu Double Cheddar sauce and have great cheese and broccoli.  Cant really think of anything else crunchy that I eat right now other than Soni**** like others have said.

Thank you for the reply,  broccoli and cheesedoes sound good.  Do you get hungry for carbs?  it's about to drive me crazy.  I can't gain this back, I just can't.  I know I will get through this, I need to drink more water, and start journaling again.  I will get through this stall.  Thanks again for your reply. Beef Jerky is a good snack...I found when left them unclosed one time that they got a littl crispy..Then I would just nibble on them...Now this is really a task...I dehydrate Green peppers, tomatoes, and other veggies....I sprinkle a little salt on them and when they are done...They are great!!! Crispy too. I do jalapeno's too but they are really hot, so I grind them down to a powder to use in dishes. You can dehydrate lots of different things...I end up eating 3 or 4 whole tomatoes with out realizing it.  It's a thought!

That does sound good.  I don't have a dehrydater though, so you use that a lot?  How much are those anyway?  I just might have to invest.  Thanks. Brenda

I think the dehydraters run close to $40....maybe a little more. I have had mine a few years. I make my own beef jerky too which is great too! You can do the same in your oven on a real low temp and over night.  One of my daughter's got me one because I was being over run by my garden!! No garden this year, but I wish I did have one now! Good luck.

Beef jerky is a fantastic one. Plus, it gets your protein in.I tried raw carrots too early and they made me sick. Murray makes a great SF chocolate cookie ring that's great for those occasional "I gotta have chocolate" moments, and they're crunchy. I don't do Special K bars...way too much sugar in those. A few cashews work sometimes too.
