Dr.Gornichec
I attended one of his weight loss surgery seminars and really liked him. I also saw him in a consultation appointment. He was very kind and compassionate. I have no concerns about his surgical skills or dedication. I didn't choose him for 2 reasons; 1) he doesn't do the VSG and that is was I wanted and 2) his self pay prices are too high for my budget. I would have used him in a heartbeat if those 2 issues hadn't been in the way. Go ahead and use him. I really don't think you would be sorry in any way.

I have not heard about him, but I am sure he's very good... all the surgeons around here seem to be. I was/well, still am Tricare and referred to Dr Warnock down in Wichita Falls, TX (weirdly enough, it's closer than going to OKC) and I'm happy with that decision. I say just thoroughly research all the doctors for the type/types of surgeries your insurance will cover for you and go from there. Good luck to you!

I used Dr. G and he was very thorough and very nice, his staff is great as well. I don't have any complaints on him at all or his staff. However, I wasn't walked at all during the hospital stay, the nurses were great in the intensive care the first night, but the second night I had to stay and I didn't like it, I believe it was on the 6th floor. Not sure though. I just hated the whole hospital experience but felt that Dr. G and his staff did a great job. Good luck on your adventure.

Well, I had a great experience - it went almost too fast - I did have to go to two nights of sleep study for sleep apena, and a liver ultrasound and I found out I had a liver disease. I had been on high blood pressure meds for 10 years but now I am completely off of blood pressure medicine.
Let's see, my insurance is Blue Cross Blue Shield, Federal, and insurance approval went real fast and with no hiccups. The staff there were great, I did have to push a couple of times, not really push, just call them to get things moving, you just need to stay on top of what is going on. They are just extremely busy. I went to the seminar in August, and my surgery was October 23, 2007. Not too shabby. It's been the best thing that I have ever done for myself. Good luck with Dr. G. I haven't heard of anything negative. He only does the surgery at Baptist Hospital, I am pretty sure.
He used to work at the Edmond clinic, before heading up the Integris Bariatics. He told us at his seminar he has never lost a patient to this surgery. And of course that helps. Good luck. Any other questions, just let me know.
