What a triumph and great news about your son ... and your family!

Where is the family farm? Once you have been a farm girl, it seems it never gets out of your system. ;  )

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

First of all, I want to say to any of you pet lovers, do you want another Dog???  I was going to post about him soon, but giving the kids and my mom time to say goodbye to him before I officially give him away.  He's a chiahua, yorkie, pomeranian mix who looks mostly like a bigger size chihauha.  He doesn't have a great home w/ us with me working, the kids being young and we are always gone.  He's 8 months old, full grown 7 &1/2 lbs and neutered. Okay, that's out of the way.  5 things to know about me: 1. I'm like most moms in the fact that I live for my kids.  They are 3, 5, and almost 13.  They are my world.  I don't like working, although at this time I have to, because I hate being away from them. 2. I'm in the middle of writing my first book.   It's always something I dreamed of doing and others encouraged me to do.  Just didn't have the confidence or sense of self-worth to take the time to try.  The surgery has made me feel like I have a 2nd chance at life. 3. I love my friends.  I'm not close to my biological family (even though my mom lives down the street from me) and friends have always filled that family void for me.  so I try to be very loyal. 4. This surgery has turned me into kind of a health nut who is driving everyone,, especially my husband, crazy.  My daughter couldn't wait to get away from me for a few weeks this summer to enjoy some junk food and soda. 5. We are in the process of adopting more children out of the foster care system.  Like I said, I love children.  Also I think a small part of me is crazy.  We're hoping to have them placed by Christmas.

I might wanna talk about the puppy.... 1.  I was born in Germany (military brat).  I dont remembe anything about it, would love to go back. 2.  I also wanted children, I was told that I couldnt (took a long time to deal with that) once i finally accepted it, i got pregnant with my daughter and my life is different everyday b/c of her. 3.  Recovering Meth addict 4.  I have achieved two of my goals (actually 3 if you count the drugs)       1.  Graduated from college with my degree before my brother

                        and

      2.  Bought my first home (by myelf) before i was 30

5.  FINALLY got WLS, and now my diabetes is under control like never before (my daughter doesnt have to see me give myself my insulin anymore.

Hmmm, 5 random facts about me.  OK, here goes" 1)  I have been teaching for 21 years.  I thought I wanted to teach little kids.  Boy, was I wrong!  I love working with teenagers!  They make me laugh and smile every day.  I am ready to go back to school already! 2) I just rediscovered the joy of riding a bike!  Who would've thunk I would love the wind in my hair as much at my age as I did as a kid? 3) I enjoy photography even though I am not good at it.

4) I LOVE to travel. I will go anywhere, anytime as long as the budget will allow.

5) I have one adult son.  He graduated from college in December and is living on his own.  I also share my life with two very spoiled pound puppies.
