I forgot to mention, my blood pressure has gone down from 120 over 80 before surgery to now it is 110 over 70. And Dr. Walton told me, cause I guess apparently he thought I knew, that my pre op labs showed that I had Diabetes. I did not know this, and it is a new thing because we get my blood checked yearly to make sure I don't have it. So we really nipped this thing in the bud.  Secondly, I know how we are all fighting to find something new and interesting to eat, and I just wanted to let you all know, I have received what is called a copy cat cook book in one of my emails. It has recipes from all of the really good eating places, like Red Lobster, TGI Fridays, and Olive Garden. If anyone would like for me to email you a copy of it, please just let me know through private messages. I'll be glad to share the wealth!!!!

I have the copycat cookbook as well.  I have tried so many of the recipes and they are absolutely delicious!  I'm glad you nipped the diabetes thing in the bud~ I did as well.  I was Type II obesity related diabetic for 6 1/2 years before my RNY back in 2004.  It's also great to hear about your blood pressure going down ... sounds like you are doing awesome at 6 weeks out!  Try the Olive Garden version of Zuppa Toscana (soup)... OMG it's to die for... almost as good as the restaurant.    Have a great night!

Congrats on your blood pressure and diabetes.  That is great.  On the cook book are there any healthy recipes in it?  If so I would love to have it.

I'm not sure about the flour tortilia's but I saute onions and peppers in water until tender then cut up chicken or get one from Sams and use it to make Fajita's. They are great! I don't use sour cream on them but the onions and peppers with the chicken and a little hot sauce is great! That is all healthy except for the tortilia BUT you can use the fat free ones. You can even make them into a quesadilla that way. It's one of my favorite dinners because it's easy and great for 1 person or 2 if you want.

Very good job, Michelle. You are so smart to nip this thing at a young age. I am very proud of you.

The cookbook does have a lot of WLS friendly recipes in it, and a lot of those that aren't can be changed around just a little bit to be made WLS friendly! lol. I'm thinking about getting the 2nd one, because it comes with the crockpot cookbook, and a whole bunch of other different cookbooks, so I will let you all know if I do end up getting it. And if you want a copy, just send me your email address in a private message, and I will forward it to you.
