swelling in legs

For those of you who have had RNY, did you have any trouble with your legs, ankles and feet swelling? Mine were fine after surgery, but it seems that ever since I started back to work (I'm a nurse), my legs have been swelling quite a bit. I had a venous doppler done to rule out blood clots. It was normal. My PCP says to cut back on my fluids because some people's bodies can't handle the 64 oz. we are told to drink. Anyone else have this problem?

No, I am happy to say that I didn't have that problem. How's your blood pressure? Sounds like you need a diuretic or maybe another Dr's opinion. Hope it gets better. Take care, Rita

I'm not an RNY patient, but I'd suggest having a physician check your circulation, kidney function, heart function and other physical reasons that may cause lower limb edema. I hope it resolves quickly.
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Are you tieing your shoes too tight?  I was having a terrible problem with swelling and come to find out, I was tieing my shoes too tight (I have a bad ankle so I wanted the extra support).
