I'm Back!

Hey everyone, I made it back safe and sound from Hawaii. The trip was great, but a week with the entire 14 members of my family is a little much. So here's what I learned on my first week of regular foods, on a cruise ship. 1. I don't dump 2. Spicy foods are not nice to me 3. It's not a smart idea to go zip-lining for 2 hours withou****er 4. I don't get sea sick or motion sick anymore 5. I get irritable when I don't have my water 6. I get irritable when I'm around my family, water or not 7. If I do'nt get my sleep, my body literally shuts down Oh, and I'm not sure if I followed the rules exactly, because I couldn't sit there and watch the cooks make my food, so i did the best I could with what I had, and I lost another 8.5 freaking pounds!!! And I cheated and had a little bit of sugar free cheese cake.  Glad to be back ya'll!

Wow!  Sounds like you did really well!  Glad you enjoyed Hawaii (if not all the time with your family!)  You lost 8.5 pounds on vacation?!?  I am totally impressed! Denise

I think you did incredibly well for being on vacation! I am stressing just thinking about my family being here for my son's wedding and all the eating out we will be doing. If you could do it on vacation I am sure I hcan survive a week of eating out! Nancy

Yeah, and get this, I weighed again this morning, just for kicks and grins, and I'm down another 2.5 pounds. Yikes! I'll update my ticker when I get home, but I think that totals 52.5 pounds.

My vacations since banding have been a real eye opener-the last two I didn't count calories or stress at ALL, and no weight was gained.  One of the reasons why I think I would gain before was because I would eat like I was never going to see a mango or a piece of cake again.....now I just eat as much as I want (which if you can do without guilt usually isn't that much) and dang if it doesn't work.

Oh, I still follow the rules-protein first, then other stuff-and that really helps.  The times I don't and just go right for the carbs, I feel icky.

I'd love to see Hawaii sometime, I'm drinking a nice cuppa Kona right now.
