Okay so its not really anybody's fault but my own.  What is wrong with me?  I totally blew it today.  I just ate two hostess cupcakes.  Why?  I mean really they are not that good.  I ate too much all day long and didn't even track it.  This weekend I didn't do that great either.  I didn't pig out but didn't do good either. I can't screw myself up on this deal.  I swear I don't understand how I can manage the operations of a company, work on my MBA, be a motivational speaker, clean house, do laundry, be a wife and mother, but yet can't freaking stick to a diet.  I have 2 weeks to lose 5 lbs!!!!!!!!!!  YIKES!  Does anyone have any exlax??

BIG GIRL PANTIES TO THE RESCUE!!!  You can so do this.  So you ate some evil stuff!  Pick yourself up immediately and get back on track!  NOW!  One thing is that the liquid diet before is good for some weight loss.  We are required to do only 1 day before surgery but I did 2 just to make sure.  You could do more days if you're really desperate!  But I'll tell you it's tough.  But liquids are easier when you have the "secret weapon"!  The banana tummy!  You just have to get there.  Next time you want to evil something evil, think to yourself how you will feel 5 minutes after you eat it?  The deliciousness is gone and all that's left is the guilt! Step away from the Hostess!  You can do it!  5 pounds is a walk in the part when you are motivated and really want something!  And you really want the secret weapon!! Kim

Amy, my secret weapon pre-op was baby carrots.  I cleared out several acres of those babies before the sleeve. You can eat a bunch and still be OK.  And, cucumbers or pickles are good to munch on.  I was addicted to the big dill pickles.  You can dip the carrots in fatfree ranch or eat em plain as I did.  Stay away from evil Hostess!  Throw the rest of the box away!  No one needs them- not even your son.  They aren't good for anyone. You can do this!  You need a banana!  Food loses much of it's appeal after surgery (at least this far.)  I am enjoying eating but don't think about it between meals. Denise

Thankfully I didn't buy a box.  I broke down and went in 7-11 and bought a single package --400 calories.  I also overate though on every meal today.  I just feel gross.  I need this surgery really bad.  I just have to pull myself together and do this thing.  I need a jump start.  Maybe I will do the carrot thing tomorrow.  I have some old (not too old) diet pills and very tempted to use them even thought they make me feel like I'm on speed.  I feel like such a loser and I don't mean that in a good way.  What if I screw up even after my surgery?  It scares me that I can lose my will power so easily.

If you overeat after surgery it's going to come back up at you!  I don't like reruns like that!  Unless you plan on taking in liquid calories you should be OK.  You were very smart to only buy a single serving of the cupcakes.  You HAVE learned something!  Before you started this journey you probably would have bought a whole box and eaten a good portion of them.  At least I know I would have. The best part of the carrots is that you can still have quantity and not really hurt yourself.  Just be careful what you put on them- don't add too many calories.  I just had them plain.  The dogs loved when I had carrots.  They like their veggies.  They can't wait until I get veggies back at 4 weeks. For the next 2 weeks you need to love yourself enough to feed yourself only healthy food in healthy portions.  You might have to start liquids early to pull those last few pounds.  I can tell you from experience you really don't want to add any days to the liquid portion of this journey!  Not fun but better than having surgery cancelled on you.  Pull it together, girl!  You are worth it!  Your son and husband are worth it!  They want you here for a long time to come.  Your son doesn't know it yet but he wants you here to be a grandmother to his kids! Call me if you need to talk.  I am here for you. Denise

Amy, Hang in there - you can do this!  I know you said 400 calories in the cupcakes... what was the weight?  The fact is that if you stopped at the two cupcakes, the only weight you could possibly gain from them is the weight of the cupcakes themselves.  I don't mean to say that it's OK, but I think you've chastised yourself plenty.  Now you just have to pick up and move forward - 5 pounds in 2 weeks should be no problem!  Keep up the great work - you can do this! John PS - I must confess - those evil, evil, Hostess cupcakes were one of my biggest weaknesses!  I found several of the empty packages stuffed around in my truck when I cleaned it out after surgery.  Now - I might look twice, but wouldn't consider actually eating one...  J

John, I thought about what you said and decided to weigh this morning and so far - no damage.  now weight loss either but no damage.  That encouraged me and today I am resolved to stick to the straight and narrow!

It's grehlin's fault!!! Truly, it is! I was reading Dr. Oz's book today, *You On A Diet* and it goes into all the facts and evils of grehlin.....around page 45 if you have the book. It truly is grehlin's fault!!! Soon, you'll have that substantially reduced ... so you only need to battle it for a couple of more weeks.

I'm pulling for you!

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly
