Mushies question?
Cottage cheese to the rescue. Man it was so awesome. Can you all eat SF apple sauce on the WW mushie stage? If so add a little touch of cinnamon on top of a bowl of apple sauce and its awesome too. SF Jello Chocolate pudding was a good buddy of mine too. We could eat angel hair pasta but I heard your doc says no so dont listen to me about that one. Umm lets see ooh yeah Wal-Mart and several other places sell the little microwavable green bean cups. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on them for taste and they are a great meal. Once you can start eating some meat, get some Bacon Bits and sprinkle them on top of the green beans. Mana from Heaven.
Thanks Wolfie! I had forgotten all about the green beans in a cup and I love me some green beans! Can't have those for a little while anyway - gotta push protein.
You're right about the carbs - WW doesn't want us eating bread, pasta or rice, preferably for forever. I think a long way down the road, I might have some whole grain rice but for the most part I'm taking this advice. They say carbs metabolize too quickly and leave you hungry. And I'm believing that one because when I eat carbs, I can't stop!
Thanks!
Kim - don't forget that whatever you eat is going to be in very, very small amounts, even though it's hard to imagine at this point, you will not be able to eat more that a couple of bites of food during this stage. Check with Jessica about vegetables; to my recollection, I was told to hold off on all vegetables, even in a puree form, until at least 4 weeks out. NO carbs (but you know that!) - I was able to handle all foods, but some people try one food item at a time, so you'll figure that out when start the mushies. Wow, that's tomorrow!!! That liquid stage went by so fast didn't it!!! HaHa....oh, and no, no gastric issues here.. - Anna
I find that the cheeses don't hold me for very long. Cottage cheese and string cheese won't suffice for lunch or dinner. It's OK for breakfast. I actually started feeling hungry on Sunday night. But, it was time for dinner. Tuna in mayo is pretty tasteless to me but I am eating it for the protein. Refried beans are heaven sent!
