Mushies question?

After not eating anything solid for so long, should I expect any, er, um, gastric issues when I get my mushies?  Is my office going to have to be fumigated?  Ha!

I was fine.  I did not rival the dog or anything!   My tummy was surprised but not unhappy.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

No problems here, either. Just remember to go slowly and try not to swallow air when eating. Refried beans with cheese went down great. Eggbeaters went down fine, but didn't sit as well as the refried beans....just felt heavier somehow.
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Kim, I just have one piece of advice: Enjoy your mushies - but - as soon as you start to possibly maybe think that you might be feeling a little bit full - STOP - do not take that next bite!  I heard this many, many times, but apparently never listened.  That is a horrible, uncomfortable feeling. Wise man say "Everyone learns from mistakes, but only a fool insists upon learning only from his own mistakes."  I guess that about sums up the whole thing for me... As for, um, er, gastric issues - I never had any when on mushies, but yesterday there was gorgeous looking steamed broccoli on the buffet.... let me just say - avoid the broccoli for a while! John

Thanks John.  At this point, I want to eat one of everything but I know that I can't so that's good!  I appreciate what I am sure will be very wise advice! I do loves me some broccoli though.  I'm guessing that if I have that, I should be alone!  Ha!

I didn't have any problem either. In fact that um, part of me was radio silent for a while and I was getting worried. Enjoy the mushies, but like has already been said, take it easy and stop when you feel like you should. Don't pu**** It's an uncomfortable feeling that you'll know when you experience it. Enjoy, enjoy! Cindy

Radio silent?  That is too funny!  I will take your advice to heart and not be a piggy.  I surely don't want to barf!  That would ruin refried beans for me forever and I can't have that!

My mushy plan designed by me was to add one thing a day....so on the first day I had a shake for breakfast, a little oatmeal/yogurt for lunch....then had another shake.   That went well so I had oatmeal/yogurt for breakfast and refried beans for lunch...then a shake......that went well....so I ate something else new the next day and so on and so forth.

Yogurt was not a problem, ice cream was (I think because it had more fat in it).  I made sure everything was working properly, pureed veggies went down well, etc. before I added any meat or fish. I enjoyed pureed tuna and chicken, but even the thought of pureed beef makes me gag.

This was loosely based on the refeeding program I did when I had been on a liquid diet for several months.  (During that little stint I went on a bike ride, was told not to bring anything for a snack because so and so was going to bring a bunch of almonds, (which are low fat).  The almonds turned out to be cashews, I lost all energy and had no choice but to try (I was 10 miles from the car) and it was the longest 10 miles of my life...I really wished I had just let myself pass out and let THEM have to worry about me....LOL.  The moral of this long winded story is-start slow, build up slow and err on the side of eating too little.  Rely on your protein shakes to tide you over until you are up to a full eating schedule again.

AS for farting-puree doesn't seem to cut back on that-so if brocoli makes you toot now, it will make you toot in the blender too, but it will be a smoother toot.......Ok, I made up the smooth part.
