Hey everyone!!
Hey how is everyone? It looks like the board has grown quite a bit since I was hangin around these parts. I admit, I moved over the the WLS in your 20's board... Thought I'd check in on everyone. I had my surgery 2/25/08, and to date, I have lost 97lbs. I have been fighting with the 4 that will push me over the 100lb mark for about a week. I know... patience...lol. Things are going GREAT with me!! I tend to notice the little things rather than the big... Such as my ring finger went from an 11 to a 9. I can wear bracelets. I have collar bones. The piercer told me I had a small nose...wtf?! I used to be sooo self conscious about my nose! My face tends to get lost in my hair! I went from an 11w-12w in shoes to a 10. Amazing! I got my nose pierced, and two new tattoos! There are pics in my profile. I would like to say thanks to those of you who offered support through this! Hopefully I will hang around more frequently. If you know any hot single guys, send em my way! HAHAHA
Hope everyone makes it through the nasty stinkin rain!
Hey Shan! I'm a relative newbie at 3 months but am glad to see you posting. But most of all, I want to say HOLY GUACAMOLE! How did you lose 97 pounds in such a short amount of time! Talk about giving hope to the rest of us! Wow! You are a brand new person. Did you have RNY or VSG? (I should check your profile!)
I just wanted to say congratulations on your major weight loss. That is incredible! I wish I knew some young, hot guys for you but I'll keep an eye out!
Hi Shan, Wow wonderful job on the loss. That is so exciting. I love the foot tattoo, I dont understand the one on the wrist. whats it say or mean? Your hair if Georgous! is that natural? the change in you is amazing. You look like a total new person and like your popping with energy, I bet it feels great. One of the things I look forward to is having more energy. Take care!
Thanks for all of the positive and kind words everyone! It is very exciting. I have sooo much more energy now, it's crazy. The tattoo on my wrist says Love, and if you hold it to a mirror, it says Hate. It pretty much stands for my relationship with myself, both before and after this amazing surgery. My hair is all mine, and all natural! I am cutting it on Saturday, it is WAY out of control! Not too short though!
As for my success, I wouldnt consider myself better or more lucky than any other person out there! I have followed my Dr's instructions VERY carefully. I work out though, 5 days a week both morning and night, and have since I was cleared for it. Before I could do weights, I walked a mile in the morning, and I waterwalked for 1 hour in the evenings. When I could add weights, I went to once a day, for longer periods. Every day I go 15 minutes on the treadmill, at 3.6mph (short legs!). Then on Monday and Wednesday, I work my legs and abs. Tuesdays and Thursdays I work my arms and abs, and I also do Yoga for an hour. I ALSO play racquetball for about 45 minutes everyday. That is my end of workout treat!! I absolutely adore it. Then on Fridays I walk on the treadmill, and swim laps. If I dont keep up with my very strict workout, I feel terrible! It sounds like a lot, but really, on Monday and Wednesday, I am at the gym about 2 hours, and then on Tuesday and Thursday I am there 2 and a half hours.
I am taking FULL advantage of my honeymoon period!! Now don't get me wrong, I do not deprive myself of things. I simply modify it! Pre-op, I would drink 1-2 Venti Caramel Machiattos from Starbucks everyday. Now, once a day, I get a Grande Decaf Skinny Vanilla Latte. Tastes amazing! No added sugar, ff milk, and 8 grams of protein!
Good luck to all of you!! Those who are pre-op, you will do amazing! Those post, you already HAVE done amazing and will continue to do so! You all inspire me!
