Karen, Are you taking all your vitamins? The only time that I've noticed getting tired after eating is if I have eaten maybe a little to much or something with more fat or sugar. That is one symptom of dumping. You might give your nut a call and see what she/he says?

Ya know....I've been wondering about this myself.  I've been reading in a lot more forums (Other than the OH forums), about how people are dealing with the loss of energy.  Most of these people tend to stack their "B" vitamins sometimes 2 or 3 times the amount recommended.  I'm not sure it's safe but I'm also unsure of the consequences of doing something like that.   I generally do the atkins thing 3 times per year to pull of 60 or 70 lbs, and I've found that I do take more vitamins in the beginning to over compensate for the losses my body is experiencing. I don't recommend you do this without talking to your doc, but for a number of other people that I've read about, the "b' stack is the only thing that seems to work for them.  So go chat with your doc and find out if it's harmful to take more of a specific vitamin and it's potential impact to your system. Just my little bit of info just for you... T.

I would love to answer but I haven't had food in so many days I can't help!  LOL! On the serious side, I assume you are getting in all your protein first?  The vitamin thing sounds like that could be the problem. Call your NUT tomorrow! Kim

I have to agree with Rita, the only time I get very tired after I eat is if I have had too much sugar or too much to eat or actually too much fat will also do it for me.  When you feel like this, log what you have eaten...and amounts...talk to the nutritionist or figure it out by your own list what is causing the problem.  You are most likely "Dumping."  We all experience it a little different.  For my DH and I we both get so tired we can't not take a nap.  It forces you to sleep.  Sounds like that is probably what's going on.....you may just have an intolerance to one thing also...there's a lot to think about....good luck!

Concentrate on meeting your protein and fluid goals and taking your vitamins (including B complex) as instructed by your surgeon and dietician. Also, I find that the more active I am, the more energy I have ... eventually.

If this continues, call your physician. You may need to have some lab work done just to be on the safe side.

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I'm with the others-concentrate on protein, water and vitamins.

I see you had VSG-I had a band, and neither of them are known for "dumping".....but if I eat something like ice cream without a little protein either before or after-"something happens" and from what I gather, it's just the same as dumping.  For me, it seems to be the deadly combination of fat/sugar that really sets me off.  For instance, whole milk gives me fits, especially on an empty stomach.

If you had diabetes or prediabetes pre surgery, you may still be very sensitive.
