My 6 wk post-op update
Okay, so here's how it went, I'm losing weight okay, and I shouldn't compare myself to others (go ahead and say I told you so Ruth
) I'm not getting in enough liquids, which I already knew. Here was the suprise for the day, though. Dr. Walton says I may be eating too much!
What??? I guess in the back of my mind I wanted to be one of those who the doctor tells they need to eat more. I need to cut out one of my 4 small meals. And I use the term meals loosely since one would be an egg, another one a piece of cheese and sandwich meat, another one a celery stick with peanut butter and the last being meat of some kind a couple of bites of veggies. Who knew that would be eating too much? Big sigh! I guess I'll try to drink more and cut out my celery and peanut butter. Maybe that will pull me through this stall.
Thanks again to everyone for all of your encouragement!
Diana

I am glad your check up went well. Did you take your food journal? Are we supposed to? How many calories a day are you eating? Sure doesn't sound like you are over eating. Wow! I guess I better be good for my 6 week check up- assuming I ever make to the mushies (only a little whining in my voice!
)
Denise

I haven't been journalling. I pretty much eat the same thing every day. I just fix the egg differently or pick different meats and veggies. But Dr. Walton didn't ask for my journal. I guess the whole point of the surgery is to not eat, but I didn't think I was eating much to begin with. But I will be good and listen because I want to become the supermodel that is hidden inside me! Yeah right, but I would like to get under 200lbs and actually match the weight I put on my drivers license last week when I renewed it. (I put 196 lbs). Oh, as for calories, I have no idea how much I've been having a day. I would estimate about 1000, but now you'll have me looking at all my packages to see. Something new to spend my time on tonight.

Now really!! Would I EVER say I told you so??? Shut it Kimmie!!!!
I am glad that things went overall well. I did tell you doc would get you back on track though and I am sure he will.
Don't worry - things will be great!! Keep up the great work and use the tool!!

I guess we all have our blows!! Diana, I think you are looking great and Dr. Walton maybe telling you that you exercising may be more than what your body is use to and holding on to it. Do don't be discouraged and it will come off. As far a calories, umm I guess that a self accountability (ya think?) Of course it is..... Well we either have been there, still there or are trying to get on all of your loosing side.... LOOSERS!!!!!!! For the first time in my life I don't think I would take that wrong? What do you think?
I'll see you tomorrow around 8:10/8:15!!! Hang in there, I got your back!!! Robin

Why is Ruth always telling me to shut it? I'm such a perfect angel! (insert mad giggling here)
There is no way heck you are eating too much. And, yes, I do have my medical degree! LOL! How in the world can that be too many calories? I know it sucks, but I think you should calculate and see how many it is.
If it makes you feel any better, you have company in the slow weight loss department. In 6 days I've lost only 2 1/2 pounds and that's on liquids only. Now that truly sucks! But I'm not discouraged. I will keep on doing my thing and my stupid body will finally fall in line or I will torture it!
You are doing great gal! Hang in there!
Kim
My husband has been asking why I've been on the computer so much in the last two weeks. So I just had him read my post and all of your hillarious replies. He thinks you are all funny. I guess he didn't know you could make such good friends online. I'm really happy that some of you brought up this website at that support group meeting at the beginning of May. Yall should bring it up at all of them for the newbies facing surgery. Thanks again for all the great advice and laughs too! Now I have to go count my calories for Denise! lol. I just can't believe I have to eat less. I didn't become part of this loser's group because I don't like to eat.
Oh yeah, Kim, I remember on my liquids only I didn't lose a pound during my second week. I think it's because at this point your body truly is trying to fight starvation! I think we would have all been good contestants for that show, Survivor during our all liquids times. They at least, get rice. Have a great night everyone and see you Thursday! (see ya tomorrow, Robin!)
