I so understand the feeling that you are not doing as well as your peers but everyone is different and our bodies are different and this is not a cookie cutter type situation.  I have been the same weight for weeks now but everytime I put on something that fit me the week before it is loose now.  I have my sewing machine out on the dinning room table permanently I think.  Every weekend and even some evenings I am taking up my clothes.  I know that something is happening when my clothes keep getting bigger on me.  I think now I am at the part where I have to work the tool.  This is where I have to live it hard.  I have really started exercising and focusing on the liquid intake.  I have struggled with the liquids since having the surgery.  Pre op I could drink 100-150 ounces of liquids a day no problem.  But it is not so easy now.  I still average about 50-60 ounces a day.  I know if I manage to work my way up in liquids that it will help.  Whatever you do DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!  I told someone the other day we are always told not to miss the forest for the trees...but with WLS I think we might need to notice the trees.  I have lost 91.5 of them...a lot of people who have had surgery after me have lost much more...so if I look at that I can get down in the mouth...but if I focus on the 91.5 how can I not be overjoyed?  If you consider how quickly the weight loss will add up at 31 pounds every 6 weeks, I think you will be very happy.  62 pounds in 12 weeks/93 in 18 weeks...sounds good to me!!!!  Keep on keeping on!!!

Thanks so much for your perspective, Diana.  (awesome name, by the way!)  I guess I do keep comparing myself to everyone else.  The truth is, I had the hardest time and it took me forever to lose the pre-op weight and I was just hoping the rest would melt off after the surgery.  But I guess I should be happy that it's coming off at all.  I lost 10 lbs in the first week after surgery, and the other 11 or so has been spread out over the other 5 weeks.  But at least it's not weight I'm carrying around anymore.  I just need to start thinking more positively.  I think 91.5 pounds is great!  And that's less than a year.  I hope I'll be able to post results like that by next summer.  Why do you have a hard time getting your fluids in?  Is it uncomfortable for you to drink?  My problem is my acid reflux and I hate all the gurgling I do after drinking.  Eating doesn't bother me at all, but drinking-especially water, is still uncomfortable.  I really have to work at drinking all day, and I don't even bother at night so I will be able to sleep.  What kind of exercise do you do?  Thanks again for all the positive thoughts.  Can't wait to meet you on the 18th! Diana
