Going back to work tomorrow! (half day)
I've had enough of laying around at home! Gotta get out of the cabin fever syndrome so I think I'll work 10-2 tomorrow. The best part? I won't be thinking about cheese, refried beans, guacamole, turkey, well, you get the idea! Why is all of my food porn Mexican food?
I just need your prayers that the next 9 days go quickly for me. I can't wait to get to the mushies stage! Now that sounds like heaven to me!
Have a great week, my peeps!

I had the exact same problem.....I had a bunch of magazines that I hadn't read. Well, after surgery, I thought it would be the best time to read them. I focused only on the recipes!!! I had to laugh at myself.
This too shall pass. Once I started eating again, I stopped obsessing.
Good luck at work,
Sharon
Please let us know how you do tomorrow. I am really interested in how quickly I can get back to work after my surgery. I actually think it will be good for me and make the time pass quicker, like you said. I'm a little worried about hitting the mushie stage because I can't stand refried beans or cottage cheese and it seems like that is what tons of people live on for that stage. I better be able to tolerate scrambed eggs or I am up a creek! Good luck tomorrow!!

Amy - I ending up working from 10-2:45 and it was the best thing I've could've done for myself. I really like the people I work with so that's a big bonus. It was good to be back in to my routine. I really could've worked until 5:00 but there were a couple of errands I wanted to run after so I left. You should feel reassured that you will be able to go back to work quickly. One thing I'll say is that I have had absolutely no nausea, thank goodness. That would definitely make it harder to work. Think I'll go in again tomorrow at 10:00 and probably make it to 5. Then full time on Wednesday. It really makes it so that I don't think about food.
One other thing. One of my "friends" at work had to show me her Snickers bar today. Now what in the he!! was she thinking? I told her to remove it from my presence but the truth is it didn't bother me at all. I'm craving REAL food, not junk. Cool, huh?
Ok, I'm rambling! I'll sign off now!
Glad to hear work went so well for you today. I started a temporary summer job of my own, and it does help you not to think about food. I think today was my best day getting in all my fluids and not snacking a bit! Hope the rest of your week goes good too. What foods are you craving? I remember bread was/ still is a big one for me. And "friends" don't always think before they act. At least a snicker bar doesn't smell much. Try being around "friends" with fresh donuts. Ohhh, what am I doing? I'll quit talking about food. 8 more days. I remember those 2 weeks post-op as lasting a really long time. It seems like you are taking it all in stride. Let me know if I can do anything for you!
No eggs? I still eat eggs every day. Deviled eggs have become my new candy...... only a couple, of course. :) I'm not even a big refried bean eater, but I had them right after my diet class and thought they were to-die-for!!! I can't wait to try Alfredo's! How are you doing with your broth and jello and such? Do you feel like you have enough energy? I think I felt more energetic after 4 or 5 days.
I have never been a big fan of breakfast foods. (except bacon of course!
) So eggs are just ok to me. I'm sure I'll be eating plenty though because it's so good for you in terms of protein. I'm looking forward to Alfredo's too. They should have lots of mushies!
The broth and Jello is getting old but I'm trying to be an adult about it. I do think it seems somewhat better today, for whatever reason. I did have 1 scoop of a protein shake before I went to work and I think that helped. I think I'll have another tonight. Phooey on the NUT who thinks you should limit those. If I feel better after 100 calories (200 in a day) how could I be hurting myself? And I don't wanna be the Bald Ranger!!!
Now deviled eggs are another thing. I do love those. Thanks for reminding me of those. I'll be whipping up a batch of those as soon as I'm allowed! (midnight on June 11!!!)
