I just suddenly got very nauseous.  I hadn't had anything to drink in probably 45 minutes beucase I was at Target.  Loading my car I just got icky.  I know I am not dehydrated.  I took my PPI drug this AM.  Any ideas???  Oh, no temp so I don't think it could be a leak. Denise

They say w/ a sleeve your stomach can do funny kinks and stuff that cause you to be nauseous for no reason.  I had mine 6 weeks ago and still feel sick if my blood sugar falls or I eat too fast, but sometimes I just feel that way for no reason at all.  I guess this is normal?  I don't know.  Hope you feel better!  Diana

Denise:  Even though you were only 45 minutes without liquid, that is all your body is surviving on right now.  And with the heat and humidity we have today, it would not surprise me at all.  Get some liquid in you, if you can suck down a protein drink, even better, rest and see if it doesn't go away. Very much NOT towards the leak - you would feel bad working up to constantly.  (I would think) I know right now if my blood sugar level drops even just a little bit I get really shaky and nauseous, which is why I carry a glucometer now.  I would almost bank on the fact that your body just got a little hot and thirsty.  Be sure to carry something with you at all times so that you can still sip.  I know it is a pain in the rumpus but it will definitely help now that the wonderful Oklahoma temps are rising. You DO NOT want to play rehydrate the body with the staff at WW.  Been there, done that, bought that first bed in the step-down room!! LOL  I spent 3 weeks every other day going up for rehydration - couldn't drive, couldn't do much of anything!!  That was definitely NO FUN.   Hang in there.  Remember, you have to get used to the weird things that your body comes up with now.  I swear they put some sort of brain in there when they go in!!  And my little pouch has a mind of its own!!  LOL

It is awful to feel that way.  All I can tell you is that I felt it a lot more often and had a harder time dealing with it before I got back on solid foods.  So this should be the worst for you.  It's a whole lot easier once you're eating.  I actually dealt with it a lot, and even went back to the hospital for iv fluids after the surgery.  It sounds like you are doing really great.  Hopefully it will pass soon!   Stay cool and hydrated like Ruth says!

Thanks Ruth.  I will try to get some liquids in.  I have already had about 40 oz today so I really don't think it is dehydration.  I have been urinating regularly today also.  Yes, I think my sleeve decided to remind me who is boss!   Denise

40 oz. already today?  You are doing so much better than me!  I have no excuse, but I've only drank a pathetic 32 oz. today.  I'm still working on it though!  You go girl!

That's cute! Your sleeve reminded you who is the boss!!! How true though. Like Ruth said, it is as if it has it's own little brain now, and in my case, I don't decide what is acceptable to my stomach, but my stomach will tell me what it will accept! I get nausea almost every morning...I have to wait about 30 minutes after I wake up to even start drinking water, even the thought of drinking or eating brings that quiziness to my stomach. I figure it needs to wake up!! I think after surgery we tend to treat our stomach with more respect than before, simply because we are not familiar with it anymore.....I know it's weird, but to me, it's like living with a stranger and I watch my steps..

I was flying by the seat of my pants on that one folks!  I just know that my OWN pouchy gets grouchy and I swear is bi-polar most of the time!! I just wasn't really aware that every one else's is the same way.   I know the pouch OWNER is a little bi-polar, manic, obsessive compulsive (what'd I miss?)  (I dunno!).  So it stands to reason, my pouch is too!!! Makes you wonder what the leftover portion is thinking in there huh!!! THE STRANGER WITHIN!!!  I'm LMAO!!

It is a little like having an alien being in there ruling the roost!  We (my banana and I) had a cease fire until today.  I need to get in some calories tomorrow.  I am way low today.  Jessica said not to use protein drinks unless I was hungry, fatigued, or lightheaded.  I wasn't any of those things today. I suspect I just need to drink some protein drinks.  However, the thought right now is totally icky.   I am ready to do the diet class on Friday to get some more instructions.  Do we get a calorie/ protein gudeline to follow at any time?
