I know this has been posted before, but I can't find it. Is there another option for Calcium Citrate besides the gritty losenges in the WW store? Hate to be a grumpy bunny, but I really despise them and the feeling of sand they leave in my mouth. I'm ok with the chewable vitamins and the B12 that I do once a week. Any help is appreciated!!! My calcium is the chewables, its carmel flavor.

Sassy, It sounds like you may be taking the wrong calcium. RNY's have to take Calcium Citrate. Usually the kind that you are taking is Calcium Carbonate. Check it out to be sure, okay. Rita

I've been using Bariatric Advantage calcium. It's cherry flavored and chewable, not gritty at all. However, each tablet is only 400 mg. so you have to chew several. I plan on switching over to Citracal as soon as I get the go ahead to tackle pills that big. ; )
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

There was something posted about a month ago about a guy who was using liquid calcium and his doctor raved about how good it was.  I will see if I can find the link again.  I think it was cat who pointed it out to us all.

You can buy the liquid at Atkins Health Food store in Tulsa.  It's very thick but you only need 2 tablespoons per day.  I swallow the horse pills now since I'm 10 months out. Good luck!

I bought the Citracal petites just to see how small they really were (petite as compared to a speed bump could still be pretty big!)  They are remarkably smaller than the original ones.  I asked Jessica about them and she said I should stay with a chewable for 6 months.  I tired the cinnamon flavor of calcium from weight wise and found them more palatable than the other flavor I tried.  Maybe GNC has a liquid calcium citrate? I purchased a 16 oz bottle of liquid Calcium Magnesium Citrate, natural strawberry flavor from Akins Health Food  Store on NW 63rd and May, the brand is Life Time, the flavor is a bit tart, just like a REAL strawberry, they had a couple of other flavors as well. I don't have the receipt but, I think it was around $14, maybe less. You just take a couple of tablespoons full and that should do it.
